Surprise, surprise ... I have copied Logger32.exe ver 3.50.419 bait to two other unprotected PCs that are online and running Microsoft Defender. So far tonight, no bites. I wonder why? So, again, let me encourage all Logger32 users to bait Microsoft by leaving an unprotected copy (that is not included in your AV exclusions) of the most recent auto-updated Logger32.exe on your desktop. And, as soon as the omnipotent AV provider has it quarantined (again this week?), submit a report at: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission

Does not help to submit anything to the idiots at Microsoft.

Many of us have sent numerous reports.

I don’t think they give a hut.

I see Microsoft just quarantined my decoy copy of Logger32.exe ver 3.50.419 from my desktop. For those who have similarly left bait out for them, please submit a false positive report when yours disappears. Are we having fun yet? SeventyThree(s).

PS. Interestingly they haven't taken the ver 4.0.x bait I left out for them

Are the Microsoft guys on strike, or do we need a "femen" demonstration in front of Bill (Gates)'s house so they EVENTUALLY take care of this , once and for all ?

Re: can you allow JT alert to write to logger log database?

Bob

Sure, anyone can log a QSO using the TCP server (default port #52001). Just send the QSO details in ADIF format. Logger32 will reply wilt ACK or NAK (NAK reply includes details of why it was rejected). It looks like the picture below (the COMMAND and PARAMETERS fields are not necessary). SeventyThree(s).

Good day I was looking to see it you could have the log from JT alert write directly to the logger 32 log database?
or is there a hook through tcp or udp to allow this to occur?
thank you  and I apologize if this has been asked before and I did not find it during my search

Re: Logger32 disappeared

Damian M0BKV

I can only comment on my experience with McAfee AV software. They have fixed the problem since then so no false positives any more.
I had the problem from v409 to V410. Replaced the exe file ONLY from v409 into the Logger32 folder and everything was ok. Put the v409 exe into the AV exclusion list tried the update but it failed again with another update to v410. Did it all again with the V410 exe file PASTED into the AV exclusion list and success this time.
Hope this helps with your question.

Don't forget and make sure the exclusions list in your AV software contains the latest version that you're installing not an older version.
Damian,

You've mentioned this a couple of times now, but I am confused as to what you are trying to say.

Windows has no user method for referencing files by version number. When you add an exclusion to an AV exception list, you only point to a specific file or directory by specifying it's name and location.

In general, users are only doing updates to the file in the same location each time, so I am at a loss to understand your reference to different versions.

Don't panic its happened to many of us. Its your Anti virus software removing the file 'Logger32.exe' from the main Logger32 folder.

And report any false positives to the AV supplier so that they can stop future occurrences.
