CW Machine switches on and off

John, G4DRS

I just upgraded to 3.50.410, and I noticed that, when I click 'Start', 'JTDX' or 'WSJT-X', the appropriate FT8 program pops up and the CW machine window disappears.
When I click 'Stop' either of the FT8 programs, the FT8 program disappears and the CW machine pops back up.
Is this a new feature, or have I just not noticed it previously?

I also notice that, sometimes, when I close Logger32, the CW machine window does not close. I have to close it explicitly. Other times, it closes with the main program.

Is this something others have observed, or is there something strange about my setup?

Child Windows

John, G4DRS

I wonder, Is it possible to have more of the available windows in Logger32 treated as 'Child Windows'?
If I move my Logger32 window on my monitor, some of the sub-windows - the 'Child' windows - move with the main window, whilst other stay where they are.
This makes me try very hard not to move my main window.

In the picture, the ones with blue crosses through them are child windows, and move with the main window. The others - rotator, RCP, DVK, CW machine, bandmaps and FT8 - are separate, and stay where they are.

It's a small thing, but if it were easy to modify it, or if I am missing something, it would be very convenient if they all moved as a group.

Hello Aki,

L32 Ver3.50.410 automatically changed font in W/C window.
It seems like ugly Japanese Windows system font.
How can I change it as I like?

Software is  not always perfect. Add Logger32.exe or Logger32 folder in exception list in Anti Virus software.

Jim,
you mean extract the Logger32.exe from the newly downloaded package?
BTW: the only antivirus I have now is the Windows internal, and it wasn't change never ever...probably the latest update added some "fix" for it.

Hi Bob

Having read READ ME, which I humbly acknowledge I should have done before downloading L32 again, I failed to deplete the 4 logbook files. Now that option is no longer highlighted presumably because I already imported my contacts.

Should I now delete the logbook and delete the four files or since things appear to be working OK, although I'm helped by Logsync, or leave things as they are?

Many thanks for your help!

By the way, we last contacted on 06 June 1973!

Arturo,
I made some changes to LogSync (actually, tried to run it) and same day that happened. Probably these are related.

I faced the same issue.
Windows Defender detected 2 virus  Program:Win32/Uwasson.A!ml and Trojan:Win32/Azden.B!cl

I thought it was because I installed L32LogSync
Did you also installed it?

I recovered the file from Antivirus

Re: ITU Zones - count showing unexpected results

John,

Count all the red squares in the 20m column. I expect you will find there are 61.

I see 4 yellow, worked but not confirmed squares.

I also see one not worked zone colored blue.

Of curse, I do not see the rows that have scrolled off the screen in your screenshot, not do I see unworked zones that you have not worked on any band. For example, zones 69, 70, 71, 72 and 74 to mention some.

I expect that the L32 totals are correct.

Seems that windows defender is a little paranoid. I disabled it anyway, because I use different AV software.

Re: Logger32.exe Deleted

Gerald Boutin

Jim,

All antivirus programs have false positives from time to time. My AV package found the L32 files including the latest .409 version to be virus free.

Make sure that you are allowing Windows Defender updates to run and that you have the latest update. Typically, there is a daily update.

Adding an exclusion to the Windows Defender settings for the Logger32 directory will let you continue in peace.

Hi,
this is probably the same problem that I reported yesterday by "L32 link gone", but not received any suggestions yet.
I scanned the whole PC for the "disappeared" exe file but it is not there.

ITU Zones - count showing unexpected results

John, G4DRS

I just had a look at the ITU Zones award in L32 (3.50.409), and saw some strange figures.

The screenshot shows the output from L32. On 20m, it reports that I have worked 65 zones, with 61 of them confirmed.
However, if I look at the graphics, there are red boxes, indicating confirmed, in all but 5 places (the ones shown in the screenshot are the only ones, honestly...), so graphically I would appear to have worked 70, with 69 confirmed, on 20m.
Is there something that I am doing wrong to arrive at this conclusion?
There usually is...
Which should I believe, the total at the bottom, or the manually added numbers of coloured squares in the graphic?

Cheers,

John
