Open the Utilities menu, select recalc, follow your wishes on the RECALC
choices and examine the results. Mine worked.

Important question about the list

Fred Decker <fdecker@...>

I just noticed that the help file in the Logger program actually contains a reference to get help at mailto:logger@... and I started this as "hamlogger". Should I re-start this under the old name rather that have to have new versions of logger reference a new site? Sorry for any inconvenience since that would me we all have to re-subscribe one more time to a new list. Thanks.

Seems there is a bit of a glitch at egroups.

The original Logger discussion group seems to have vanished. I
expect/hope it will return in time.

Apparently, Jim was in charge of the list. He said that he turned the
list over to someone else who went on vacation and while he looked after
it felt he didn't like the list. lack of helpful people, people who post
virus warnings, etc. He had enough, he just pulled the plug and deleted
everything last night. If you know people who want to support and learn
about logger, send them over here. Thanks!

Re: Logger

Oh boy, that is not very helpful.

Seems to me that if the old logger list is definitely not going to
return it might be worthwhile renaming this one as Logger? Then at
least everybody who has it bookmarked will find it in the end.

Also seems to me that a moderator has two choices - Accept everything
and anything put on the list or Censor everything that is not to his
liking.

Hope this works out. Logger is a wonderful problem.

tell your friends about the new list

Fred Decker <fdecker@...>

Hello everyone,

There are a few people who have found their way here already. As you know, the old list was deleted and all files, archives, messages, etc are gone. I am talking with egroups to see if we can at least get the archives back.

Could you please go through your addresses and old emails and see names that aren't on the list yet and send them a quick note about finding us over here? They just have to send a mail to hamlogger-subscribe@... If everybody tells two people to tell two people... you get it. :)

We probably will keep this name, but will look at trying to get the old name back. Since that is already mentioned in Logger's help file, either we have to change or the author would have to updated this file. I don't want to keep jumping around because there are a lot of links on web pages, and stored addresses in people's mailboxes that they have to keep changing. I'll keep you posted, the final decision will be made within 2 weeks. If I go back to the old name, all people subscribed here will automatically be subscribed to the correct list, they would just have to change the email address in their software for when they want to address a new message. Thanks.

Better check with Bob first on that one. He does have the thing
copy writed, although I expect he would have no problem with it.

There's another choice; GUIDANCE! This latest flap could have
been easily avoided with a simple email to one individual. But
when you add in the ego of KH2D, ( and you should see copies of
the vulgar and profane email he sent some members ) it becomes
impossible.

Hope this works out. Logger is a wonderful problem.
Can't pass this one up. "out of the mouths of babes..." Laughed

YES, agree.

And the 'wonderful problem' was a genuine slip! Glad to give you a

Re: Logger

K4SB <k4sb@...>

Gentlemen

In a previous message, I stated that KH2D has sent "vulgar and
profane" comments to some "members" ( note plural )of the old
Logger list.

I grouped "vulgar and profane" into one category. However, I now
realize that this could be interpreted that only "profane"
comments were sent. That was not my intent.

I therefore apologize directly to Jim, and any of you who were
offended.

As far as I am concerned, this old matter is finished. Let's all
work to rebuild a fine reflector.

Logger Start up problem

scooter@...

Installed and tested OK. Removed test info and entered a couple of
pages of old logs via "ADD" tab. Next time into program got the
normal screen and box about database error...couldn't find
notepad..ignore if 1st time.. clicked OK and immediately back to
windows desktop with Logger program closed.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Hate to start entering data
again if I can't get back to it.

Just wondering general feelings about html mail. If I allow attachments,
we can have pictures included in the messages and other things from time
to time, however this can be abused and the messages are about 3 times
larger. I welcome thoughts from people who know about html messages as
they apply to groups and how they feel about the. I like them, but in a
large group, sooner or later is can be a problem. Do we test the water?

Re: html email

Fred, I would say no. HTML can include a variety of bad things,
including virus
macros, ect. If we could, I would set the server to bounce a
HTML.
