Re: Floating Callsign Window issues
Interesting.
I am left handed and my mouse buttons are reversed from the norm. However, when I hit and hold the physical right button, I do get the move symbol and can move the window. This is because I used the Logitech driver settings to reverse the mouse button functionality before Windows 10 sees the click. Windows 10 still thinks that my primary button is the Left button. Now that I have tested and verified this, I am looking for a way to disable the floating callsign feature. Is there a better way than manually editing the ini file entry? -- Gerald, VE1DT

Bob
The v4.0.296 maintenance auto-update includes the following fixes/additions/modifications. SeventyThree(s).
When using 'quickswitch' and clicking on an FT4/8 DX Spot, the callsign was not correctly transferred to the callsign field of the logbook entry window. Fixed
When opening a new/empty logbook, the logbook page window was not correctly populated. Fixed UDPBandMap graticule is increased from 3000Hz to 3500Hz. You can now send DX Spots from the UDPBandMap by right clicking on either the gridsquare or signal report. VU2CC award column width increased by two characters. Added a call only LoTW users option to the Cherry-picker. Added a menu to right click on the Rotor panel of the lower status bar to allow the user to auto turn the rotor when clicking on a DX Spot and/or operating FT4/FT8 with the UDP BandMap.

... there's the problem. Until such time as you reconfigure your mouse for the left button to be the primary button you won't be able to move the floating callsign window. SeventyThree(s).

Re: Floating Callsign Window issues
Aki
I did what you said! I had to google where to find the file and with some time I figured out where it was. I changed the name as you said and held my breath. I was just hoping that you all would be able to help me fix it if I screwed it all up. When I opened the shortcut on my desktop everything was like new for the first time. I put my call in the floating call sign box and tried to move the floating call sign and it would NOT move. Although when I changed the font the window got bigger as it should. And when I told it to show all the info it can it did show it. So that part is working correctly now but Still, It's not moving. I know this shouldn't matter but... I have my right hand in a cast at the moment so I've changed the mouse buttons setting so I can run it with my left hand. So when I Right click and hold nothing happens. When I left click the window opens up with all the options to change settings. Either way, if I click inside the floating callsign window including on a large font and hold no arrows show to move the box. Also if I click on the border of one side of the box I do get the left/right arrows but it doesn't move or get bigger as most windows do. Thanks for trying to help. BTW, when I went to change the file name back it said there was already a file named this. I had to find it and delete that INI file then rename the OLD one. Everything seems to be working like it did before so I guess I did OK. No change to the Floating Callsign box but it all back and not screwed up as far as I can tell.

Re: Floating Callsign Window issues
Aki...
I'm afraid that kind of stuff is beyond my understanding and I wouldn't know where to find or how to change such a thing. Maybe with more details??? I will try a few other things first. But thanks for the idea. I've been a truck driver for over 40 years. I threw a fit when they took away my paper log books. Now I have a computer on my dash that logs all my routes and stops and such. Once a week I have to have one of the girls in the office get in my truck and fix the mess I made of it. I don't want to make a mess of this log as I couldn't even tell ya where the backup is. I know one is somewhere but I don't have a clue. Tom... I will look around for such an option. This makes sense. Now if I can find it. Thanks. I did find one that says Lock Child Windows. It wasn't check-marked. Bummer. I gave it a try anyhow. Nice to know it's there but that wasn't it.

Jerry One more suggestion. Try to run with default Logger32.ini. (Rename current Logger32.ini to Logger32.OLD) Logger32 now run with default settings. Please check whether Floating callsign window works or not. 73 de aki JA1NLX

Floating Callsign Window issues
I've posted this in another thread and had kind people trying to help me with this but to no avail.
The window (Floating Callsign) will not move, Will not expand, and will not show the heading of the call in the box. I think I've dug through every setting I can find on this. I've read the instructions over and over many times. Even had the XLY read them and tell me what she thinks (that was funny but I had to be sure I wasn't missing something). I'm hoping one of the makers of this fine program has an idea of where to look. Or a fix for it. I've had 3 different members of this site trying to help and give instruction, but everything they said to try I had tried many times. The last thing that I tried was to make the font larger. I went with 72 and bold! Then I could only see two letters of the call. The rest of the call letters were beyond the sides of the window. And I can't move the window or make it bigger so this didn't help. I'd like to put the window in a different location. Right now it is center and at the top of my screen. Thanks for any help I can get with this. Jerry King K1ING

Re: WSJT-x/Logger32 & Spots on Telnet
Thanks for the reply.
I've tried everything people have said to try. The last thing I've tried is to change the Text font size even more. I made it huge. 72 and bold! Now all I can see are 2 letters of the call. The rest is beyond the sides of the window. And, I can't change the size of the window or move it! No matter where I click. Including the letters. Holding and moving does nothing. I will try to start a new thread asking for help with this as I'm not getting anywhere having this at the end of a thread that isn't titled with issues with this window. Thanks to Bob for trying to help and for others putting in their opinions. But the program or part of the program that has to do with this window must be the program. It's not my Mouse clicking. LOL. 73 Jerry

Re: RTTY settings, advices needed...
John: I was wondering ifyou might email me or post here screen shots or photos for your Icom 7610 and Logger 32 RTTY settings? I have everything else working including PSK etc, except for RTTY. I can either get things to key with no tomes going out or tones without keying in RTTY . Thanks & 73 Gary, K2GW

Re: WSJT-x/Logger32 & Spots on Telnet

If you right click on callsign text then you should see pull down menu. Change callsign text font size larger. It may be easier to get the arrow. Although you might do this, but Move mouse pointer on callsign text and push left button of your mouse. You should see the arrow. Move mouse while pushing the left button. 73 de aki JA1NLX

Re: WSJT-x/Logger32 & Spots on Telnet
I wish it was easy Bob. That is what I'm trying to do and I never get an arrow that points all four directions. And the window never moves. I've changed it to transparent and back many time too. It will not move.
|
|
Re: WSJT-x/Logger32 & Spots on Telnet
Bob
Two points of clarification ...
1) When positioning the mouse pointer to move the window put the mouse pointer over the callsign text.
2) If your window is transparent and/or has no border visible, then you can make it look like a normal window by putting the focus on the logbook entry window and tpy CTRL+F
Easy huh? SeventyThree(s).

Re: WSJT-x/Logger32 & Spots on Telnet
Bob
I think we've established that the window in question is actually the floating callsign window.
Move the mouse pointer so that it is over the window, or over the callsign directly. Hold the left mouse button down. Do not click it, hold it down. Do you see the mouse pointer has changed for a top/left pointer to a North/South/East/West pointer? If so, then still holding the left button down, move the mouse. The window should follow. When you have the window where you want it, let go of the left mous button. SeventyThree(s).

Re: WSJT-x/Logger32 & Spots on Telnet
Your correct Bob. And I've read this many times paying attention to every word...
. . (The window can be positioned anywhere on the screen e.g. near the top of the Sound card data window or CW Machine for quick reference. It can be especially useful if you have multiple monitors. You can also move the invisible box by clicking and dragging the text into position. This is easier if you choose a large bold font, which makes sense since the main purpose of this function is to make it obvious who you are working.) The problem is it still "will not move". Also, I have the option to display a heading and that "does not display". I've made text big, bold, small, etc... Right clicked and Left Clicked while dragging in many different spots and Still, it will not move. I've closed it and opened it many times and still IT WILL NOT MOVE. Now I'm the first one to admit I don't understand a lot of what this computer program does but I can read.
