I have been looking at this for weeks trying different things and I think I have just found it. This setting was not ticked

No Idea how that got changed unless it was during an update. Anyway seems to be working again.

Flags not being set for new QSOs #log

Colin Hendry

Hello,
Recently, the last three weeks or so, Logger32 has stopped setting the QSO flags whena log entry is made. Anyone seeing this or have an idea on how to fix it. I am running the latest version of Logger32 and have the the items ticked as shown below.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Parallel logging

The TCP server socket is bound to the localhost address 127.0.0.1. When parallel logging is enabled and a QSO is logged/modified/deleted, the socket is momentarily bound to the IP address of another PC. Then, when the parallel logging request is completed, the socket is again bound to the local host address. SeventyThree(s).

Because I'm not using Ethernet connection cables to check out or change the IP Address in the 'Setup parallel logging' window it means going to 'search' on the Windows toolbar and doing a command prompt (CMD) followed by ipconfig to find it in a DOS window.

Also, it says in the manual p633 "Mouseover the TCP panel for an informational pop-up showing the IP address and TCP port number" but this IP address is the loopback address, 127.0.0.1, which I think is standard with windows. What would be helpful is to know the Local IP Address in use without going to the TCP event viewer window.

CheckCall is designed always with minimum space. You can easily find small space
for CheckCall.

Hi Aki,

I am using CheckCall as recommended and I find it useful. But the CheckCall window is "always on top" and often covers another window.
Is there any way to stop "always on top"? I tried to find any information on the internet. My understanding is that Windows doesn't allow that. I know there are some utilities for that, but I would prefer to set it without having another utility (if possible).

Thank you,
Milos

Aki,

I have done many tests now.... you won´t believe what I found out. I have to uncheck "Run this program as administrator" in the tab "Compatibility" in Properties to have it working correctly. In other words, if I run the utility as administrator it leaves b/w but if I run it normally it is green. If you are interested in it I can make a short screenshot video.
I recall that at the beginning, if I ran the utility normally (not as the admin) it did not do anything. I don´t know what has changed. And I don´t understand why it does work correctly if I run it as administrator, hi. Anyway, it works now and I will continue to play with it.
Thanks for all your support and patience.

Aki,

Yes, that´s what I am doing. If it is not run as administrator it does work at all.
So now I have no idea what to do. It leaves black/white even if I open the txt file. I tried to open another txt file (AGMemberListDated.txt downloaded by CheckCall), but it is b/w as well.

The title "CheckCall" should be highlighted with light green.
It means CheckCall is connected to Logger32.
Right click on "CheckCall" to show menu.
Click Open text file and selct your database text file.

Hello Villi,

Thank you for your response. I ran the utility, but honestly, I am not sure what to do now. I tried to open the txt file with my database in the utility, but it is not doing anything. I can imagine that there could be an issue with its format. But, I can't find any specifications on Aki´s website.
The description on Aki´s website states the following: "Right click on "Logger32" to show menu. "Logger32" is highlighted with light green when it connects to Logger32." But, I can´t find any "Logger32" in the utility and nothing is colored.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thank you,
Milos

DR Milos,

No problem, hi.

Aki has written an excellent add on to Logger32 to do this, it is called CheckCall, it uses text files as input, works by the line and can be configured to pop up when you enter a callsign into Logger32 that has a match in the text.

His web is: http://ja1nlx.web.fc2.com/logger32/UtilityProgram/UtilityProgram.htm

Subject: [hamlogger] Grid squares database and a lookup

Hello,

I am a VHF oriented operator and I am unable to find a way to transfer my grid squares database (created in the contest logging sw Tucnak). The database is a simple text file containing CALL, GRID SQUARE, DATE, BANDS  on each row (e.g. OK1MZM JN89FS 20220323 CE). So it is nothing like RAC, QRZ, HamCall databases using DLL´s.

Is there any way to import my simple database into the Logger and use it for lookup? Unfortunately, I was unable to find this in either the user manual , or this forum.

I am using the version 3.50.0. The version 4 is not working on my computer.

Thank you,

Milos OK1MZM

Bob as a long time user of Logger32 I can tell you that in the past the name field when logging from WSJT-X or JTDX has usually been completed when the log entry is made.  Recently that has not been the case.
I use L32Lookups and it is working fine.  It only looks up the information if you a) manually enter a call or b) double click on a call in the DX Spots window.  It is my understanding it does not operate with log entries made from either WSJT-X or JTDX.  If I am incorrect please let me know.
Perhaps there is bug external to Logger32 causing the data to not be correctly entered.  Maybe someone else is experiencing the same problem and will respond.
Thanks for your response.

For those interested in Worked All Britain (WAB) Collecting. Namely the Databases that have been uploaded into this group's Files area. The 7 countries of the UK have to be added to the file 'ADIFCountriesWithPrimarySubdivisions.txt'. England 223, Northern Ireland 265, Scotland 279, Wales 294, Isle of Man 114, Jersey 122 and Guernsey 106. Ireland (Eire is already there)
I have also added them to the File 'ADIFCountriesWithSecondarySubdivisions' in my Logger32 file, although I'm not sure if it's necessary.
I will post a copy of my files into the file with the country's databases.
