Aki,

I have done many tests now.... you won´t believe what I found out. I have to uncheck "Run this program as administrator" in the tab "Compatibility" in Properties to have it working correctly. In other words, if I run the utility as administrator it leaves b/w but if I run it normally it is green. If you are interested in it I can make a short screenshot video.
I recall that at the beginning, if I ran the utility normally (not as the admin) it did not do anything. I don´t know what has changed. And I don´t understand why it does work correctly if I run it as administrator, hi. Anyway, it works now and I will continue to play with it.

DR Milos,

No problem, hi.

Aki has written an excellent add on to Logger32 to do this, it is called CheckCall, it uses text files as input, works by the line and can be configured to pop up when you enter a callsign into Logger32 that has a match in the text.

Hello,

I am a VHF oriented operator and I am unable to find a way to transfer my grid squares database (created in the contest logging sw Tucnak). The database is a simple text file containing CALL, GRID SQUARE, DATE, BANDS  on each row (e.g. OK1MZM JN89FS 20220323 CE). So it is nothing like RAC, QRZ, HamCall databases using DLL´s.

Is there any way to import my simple database into the Logger and use it for lookup? Unfortunately, I was unable to find this in either the user manual , or this forum.

I am using the version 3.50.0. The version 4 is not working on my computer.

Thank you,

Parallel logging

DamianM0BKV

Hi I managed to get the, very clever, Parallel logging module working after a few hours of struggling and it's working fine. There were a few problems the first being the IP address it showed me to use (I92.168.0.100) on my main home PC was for the Ethenet cable connection and on the remote laptop was for àn ethernet cable connection which wasn't plugged in. By doing a CMD and then ipconfig in the DOS window using the Search feature (both PCs Windows 10 platforms) I found the IP addresses for the wireless connections which worked ok. I've tried to use the ethernet cable connection since on my main PC but it doesn't work only a wireless network works. The window showing the IP address and Port (that can be changed) always shows the Ethenet IP addresss on both PCs which doesn't work so I have to do a CMD in the search box and then ipconfig to find the correct IP address to use each time I power up the PC. I should be able to change this from DHCP to a static IP address hopefully without problems.
Another small problem is if the remote PC sends a logged qso to the main PC (all though it's not normally used for that) the main PC logged it then sends a copy back to the remote PC which puts it in the log a second time. Not sure if my settings cause this.
Apart from this there was a couple of things in the manual that confused me. The reference to the 127.0.0.1 IP address directed me the wrong way initially. It's prominence when checking the TCP tab on the bottom row also added to this confusion. Call me a donkey for this. Thanks for this great software extra. BTW version 294 in use on both PCs.

The errors you see caused when Logger32 can detect there is an instance of Ham CAP running, but Logger32 is unable to talk to Ham CAP.

As for the multiple copies of VOACAP assume that clicking the X on Ham CAP to shut it down automatically stops VOACAP but sending a windows message to Ham CAP to quit doesn't automatically stop VOACAP. Not much I can do about that.

Looking in Task Manager Ham CAP is present without any CPU overhead. Two
copies of voacapw (32 bit) are present with one no CPU overhead and the
other with never ending 47.9% CPU overhead.

In extreme cases closing down the tasks will result in six error boxes
that show one after the other after pressing clear, constantly repeating
after closing each one.

The error box reads;

"Error 462 (the remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable)

Error on line 4270

At this point L32 is unable to be closed, the error box has total control.

Upon closing down via the normal windows "Shut down or sign out"
followed by "Shut down" Windows reports two apps preventing shutdown.

Two L32 icons one with the preventing shutdown notification and the
second on without. Forcing a shutdown then does as requested and
terminates windows.

If I launch Ham CAP stand alone it behaves normally.

For some reason when launched by L32 two copies of voacapw are set
running and it will do this even after a PC shutdown and restart.

My uneducated guess is that occasionally Ham CAP when closed by
terminating L32, something is leaving voacapw in a state where it
launches with L32 and when Ham CAP is subsequently launched another copy
of voacapw launched and the death spiral repeats.

As I say, an uneducated guess.

After a combination of launching and terminating Ham CAP stand alone.
Launching L32 and killing off the errant Ham CAP and voacapw via task
manager and then terminating L32 maybe a couple of times whatever is
lurking in the background has been exorcized and normal service resumes.

So, what is unusual about the interaction between L32 and Ham CAP. Way
above by BBC Basic experience of days gone by. This problem occasional
presented even when I was Win7/64 Pro powered.

  1. Launch Internet Explorer,

  4. Click on the “Advanced Tab”,
  5. Scroll down to the bottom,
  6. Enable ALL “Use TLS” option

DR Milos,

No problem, hi.

Aki has written an excellent add on to Logger32 to do this, it is called CheckCall, it uses text files as input, works by the line and can be configured to pop up when you enter a callsign into Logger32 that has a match in the text.

His web is: http://ja1nlx.web.fc2.com/logger32/UtilityProgram/UtilityProgram.htm

Subject: [hamlogger] Grid squares database and a lookup

Thank you,

Milos OK1MZM

Aki,

Yes, that´s what I am doing. If it is not run as administrator it does work at all.
So now I have no idea what to do. It leaves black/white even if I open the txt file. I tried to open another txt file (AGMemberListDated.txt downloaded by CheckCall), but it is b/w as well.

You should set CheckCall.exe to run as administrator.

The title "CheckCall" should be highlighted with light green.
It means CheckCall is connected to Logger32.
Right click on "CheckCall" to show menu.
Click Open text file and selct your database text file.

Hello Villi,

Thank you for your response. I ran the utility, but honestly, I am not sure what to do now. I tried to open the txt file with my database in the utility, but it is not doing anything. I can imagine that there could be an issue with its format. But, I can't find any specifications on Aki´s website.
The description on Aki´s website states the following: "Right click on "Logger32" to show menu. "Logger32" is highlighted with light green when it connects to Logger32." But, I can´t find any "Logger32" in the utility and nothing is colored.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thank you,
Milos

In VQLog, the frequency is supposed to be logged as 10489.800.0 for example.
The import does not seam to work properly.
Is this a question of format of the frequency , with either a dot or a

Hi everyone,
Since my last update I started to notice some issues when accessing my previous QSO window and clicking with right button to update the QSL status of a specific QSO.
This usually happens instantaneously, I click and bang! It is ready, now it takes around 7sec until the QSL status window pop up and if I clicked again while it is waiting (no window yet) this error below pops up.

I never have this before in more than 15y using logger32.
Is anyone else having the same issue? I tried to rebuild my logbook to see if it resolves but no diference. :/
I’m running V4.0.294

Any tip?
