That is normal operation. When you log a qso the qrz lookup window and the internet lookup window hide themselves. They open again on the next lookup.

Subject: [hamlogger] QRZ Lookup window disappears during a QSO editing into the Logbook page window

Hi all.

I have noted that the "QRZ Lookup window" disappears during a QSO editing into the Logbook page window.

For example can happens that I edit some fields for a QSO into the Logbook page by taking values from the "QRZ Lookup window" and during this editing the "QRZ Lookup window" disappears.

To simulate:

1. Enter a Callsign into the Logbook entry window

2. Generate a QRZ Lookup

3. The "QRZ Lookup window" appears

4. Edit a field of a QSO into the Logbook page (until now the "QRZ Lookup window" is still present)

5. Finish to edit the QSO (so you press RETURN in order to conclude the editing)

6. Now happens that the "QRZ Lookup window" disappears

I was not able to find a settings that generate this "QRZ Lookup window" disappearing.

Thank you.

Wrong Frequency DX Spots from "WSJT-X" monitor window on 10m band

Fabio IZ8MBW

Hi all.
It seems Logger32 use an incorrect Frequency format when make DX Spots from the "WSJT-X" monitor window.
It uses "," and not "." as decimal separator and DX Cluster return the error of "The callsign or frequency is invalid".

See here:

Based on my experience, that happens only on 10m band.

Re: line on map

thanks John, will have to try this..
BTW, it is a fixed dipole.
Randy

ADDENDUM:  works like a  charm.. thanks much John

Re: line on map

John Munton - G7SSE

Randy, are you referring to a fixed dipole as opposed to rotary, so therefore no rotator for Logger32 to communicate with?

Looking for a "work around" as an experiment I tried the following;

Assuming you have already created your azimuth maps in the Tracking Window in Logger32;
Close Logger32 and go to the directory.
Find and open each of the map files with an image editor (I used MS-Paint 3D)
Draw your line for your dipole as you require on each map and save to the Logger32 directory with the original file names.
Run Logger32 and check the results.

Just one thing; if you recreate the map using the any of the options in the Logger32 Tracking Window, your line would be erased when the map is recreated.

Not sure if this is the sort of thing you're after but see mine for the IOTA Spots Map below.

Re: line on map

Section 41.4.4 of the v4 User Manual shows how – well not exactly a rotary dipole but similar: a Steppir/Ultrabeam’s bidirectional setting should be close enough to the pattern of a dipole or loop (a 1 element quad) etc.

Anyone know of how I might get  a line on my map to show the orientation of my dipole? (see pic as example)

Would be nice  if it were possible.

Thanks in advance,

Re: line on map

If you can get your dipole to reply to rotator poll messages, the line will automagically appear. Just like the line in the picture. 73.

I don't know what an ARRL CW ADIF file looks like, but if it is the ARRL_SECTION field in the ADIF file that is causing the error, then edit the ARRL_SECT.DB file in your Logger32 directory (it is an simple text file). Add rows like this:

LB | NF
NL | NF
DC | MD

And, as th ARRL continue to add weird and wonderful sections, you can add to the list.

That might help. SeventyThree(s).

Re: Macro $serialnum$

Gary Hinson

Yup!

You can hard-code short-form reports as “5NN” or “ENN”, with serial numbers sent in full or short.

$SentRSTn$ sends 9s as Ns.

In the CW Machine, choose how to send zeroes under the config menu:

And you can elect to send or drop the leading zeroes under Serial # setup (right-click the serial number panel at the bottom of Logger32’s main window):

[Side note: contest rules may specify the minimum number of digits … but such rules are widely ignored and rarely if ever enforced].

There are config options to “Cut” 0 and/or 9 in Winkeyer too, if the Winkeyer is generating your serial numbers:

Finally, there’s the question of how to log reports and serials received: should we log “ENNTTE”, for instance, or “599 005”, or “5995” or … what?  The answer depends on the contest rules and your personal preference, and that uncertainty is a factor in the contest adjudication software that may or may not understand and permit/penalize the different approaches to sending, receiving and logging.

I don't think there's an option to send A for 1. I think $sentrstn$ converts 9 to N (not T). There are options to send 0, T, or O for a zero. SeventyThree(s).
