Re: Tracking DX Marathon

Gary Hinson

It’s fairly close.

Logger32’s ‘DXCCs worked this year’ and ‘CQ Zones worked this year’ counters account for the main part of the DX Marathon score.  We need to add-on the number of non-DXCC CQ countries worked – places such as the Shetlands, Bear Island and 4U1VIC.  There aren’t many of them.

Yes, you can also export a partial log for the year-to-date and run it through Jim AD1C’s excellent ADIF to CQ Marathon utility to get your current total if you want. I don’t normally bother until just after the year end when I’m preparing my entry.

Personally, I simply keep an eye on the CDXC DX Marathon scores table throughout the year.  That only counts DXCCs but I find it’s a pretty good guide to how I’m doing relative to other contenders for the CQ Marathon, and it’s dead easy to use.  Rick N2AMG’s L32LogSync utility sends my QSOs to Club Log for me as they are logged.  Any other annual DXCC league table would serve a similar purpose.

As to maximising my score, Logger32’s this-year-only highlighting and alerting of new DXCCs is the main tool.  To be clear, I chase virtually all new DXCC countries as they appear on the BandMaps, provided I am QRV and the path is open on the relevant band anyway.  Not much point chasing LF DX spots at noon!  I have a second monitor just for the BandMaps and JTDX with its own UDP BandMap, so I can carry on working-from-home on the main monitor while not actively chasing new ones.

DXMarathon? I had had to Google it. It's a CQ award, not an ARRL award, so without reading the fine print, I doubt Logger32 doesn't even come close to supporting it. SeventyThree(s).

Yes it is just for the current year. I saw you can do that but it can be a lot of scrolling around. As a Simple Award, it is a much smaller database window with just small check boxes which can be much more quick and handy.

In searching about it in this group, I only saw where one other person had asked about the same thing but got no answers. I did see on the logger32 webpage that the DX Marathon is supported but did not see where it was specifically discussed or to what extent it was supported.

Since the grid or database that would be great to use showed up in the simple awards,

It just seems to need to be populated.

Same thing in the Worked/Confirmed window.

I would like to track DX Marathon stats in Logger32. I entered it in the

simple awards and the tracking database does show up, so far so good!

I am however not sure how to get my log entries to show up in that

database. I suspect there is a checkbox somewhere to enable that but I

have not found the way as yet.

Any hints would be much appreciated!

Line 300 if the code sets the option to show the signal strength on the UDP BandMap on/off. Line 340 sets the option to show LoTW users on the UDP BandMap on/off.

What happens if you open the UDP BandMap, then click on CONFIG and then click on SHOW SIGNAL LEVEL? Try a couple of times.
