Re: Question LOTW and two callsigns

Hi John.

The linking is purely about merging the DXCC accounts and records for two or more callsigns held by the same person or group.

My everyday and [personal] contest calls are linked, so that QSOs made and confirmed with either call can both count towards the same DXCC account.

Hi

I have registered with LOTW

GM4NFI

EA7/GM4NFI

GM4NFI/P

GM4NFI/M

I also have GM4NFI/MM but note  /MM cannot have DXCC

Depending on which callsign I used at the time of the QSO I just upload to that callsign.

You could post the question on the LOTW group

Hi Folks

I have my main callsign and a contest callsign. I have it all setup on Logger32 and also Club Log, so thats working fine.

With LOTW I have both callsigns setup under the one main account so upload with TSQL and just select the callsign, so that all works.

The thing I want to do is LINK the accounts in LOTW as both callsigns are mine so the DXCC rules are clear that it will be fine but the question is that once I select the link options in LOTW then I can still upload in the way I am doing by selecting the relevant callsign?

Anyone else using two or more callsigns this way?

Permanently disabling Windows Defender is possible but not for the faint-hearted. It involves editing the Windows registry and you should have a complete backup of everything in case it goes wrong.

There is another way by using Group Policy Editor... do a search for gpedit.exe and see if you have it. I don’t and will need to install it...

Instead of giving up on Windows, would it not be easier to give up on Defender and load some other third party free anti-virus? I assume this is possible on W10, as I'm sticking with Win7 for now....
If one takes the L32 .EXE file and test it on the site "virustotal.com", you will see which AV pass the .EXE as OK and, which AV flags it. Pick an AV from there. Most free AV products like AVG, AVAST, etc. work just fine. The is no one AV product that is 100% protection anyway, not even the commercial ones. Most AV products have false positives, and most of those vendors respond to them rather well. With Defender, you are dealing with MS bureaucracy...

Hi Paul.

Have you accidentally turned on annual statistics rather than all time?  Does the top left corner of your worked/confirmed window say “2020”, like this:

If so, that window and the DXcluster spot highlighting only takes account of countries you have worked during this calendar year.  This is very useful for those of us entering annual marathon DX challenges.

Simply click the top left corner cell again to change it back to “ALL”, like this:

Similarly, in your DXCC statistics report, there is a selector box at the bottom that allows you to select just the current year or all time, and you can also choose particular callsigns etc.
