Exporting Log (ADIF) Partial Only FT8
Gregg E
OK, I need to export my Log with only the FT8 Contacts. I need to merge my previously worked stations into the WSJT-X Log When I check the box to export partial log there is no option to choose FT8? Where do I need to go to set that up as an option? Thanks Gregg W5IDX

Re: [DXLab] RadioInfo UDP Packet - Proposal - <app> element to identify source

We are planning on adding the <app> tag to all our XML messages. This will allow a consuming app to know what app they are talking to, thus if an app is only supposed to control a rotor for N1MM+, it can do that. + That's fine. The whole purpose of XML is standardization, but also to allow extension. If another application is in need of a data element not in the standard, and one we are not willing to add, then it can be ignored by consumers who don't need it. + Are you willing to include data elements not supported by N1MM+ in the documentation, assuming you are appropriately informed? Regarding frequency down to the Hz level, I have not yet heard a requirement for that. When/if it needs to be added, I am inclined to add it as a new element as an integer number of Hz as opposed to integer number of tens of Hz. SDRs controlled by extio use integer Hz to set frequency. It would be a new element to prevent all consumers from needing to handle both the current and the new format. They consumer could chose what to support without the need to coordinate with the sender. + Sounds good. 73, Dave, AA6YQ

Dave AA6YQ

I would like to propose a small change to the RadioInfo XML Document UDP packet that broadcasts the status of the radios being controlled by logging software. Add an element to the RadioInfo packet: <app>N1MM</app> <app>DXLAB</app> <app>Logger32</app> Etc… The W1TR HFAUTO software that controls the Palstar HF-AUTO ATU uses these broadcasts to preset the L/C tuning solution in the ATU (long story, some other time). I’m guessing that there many other APPs out there that use this information for various purposes. The complete syntax and semantics of the information in the RadioInfo packet varies depending on its source. It would be unreasonable to require standardization of this XML Document… + Exactly why would it be unreasonable to maintain a standard format used by all applications? I'm happy to make any changes in DXLab applications required to do that.. But… inclusion of the <app> element would make it easier for 3rd party software using this to properly decode it and identify its source. + If you make it easy to introduce gratuitous differences, guess what will happen. Logger32 has a clever solution for providing the 1 HZ digit… <Freq>1416350.3</Freq> Use a decimal point and additional digit to get 14.163.503 as a frequency. Too bad that N1MM chose 10 Hz as the frequency resolution, but that ship has sailed. + Two decimal points in a number is "clever"? Why not add 3 or 4 more and be "brilliant"? Or switch to hex, that will be even less readily understandable. + When I'm telling war stories about the ridiculous "variances" encountered when importing ADIF files from various applications, "frequencies that contain two decimal points" always gets a big laugh. Let's not standardize this nonsense. At least applications broadcast RadioInfo UDP packets: 1) N1MM / N1MM+ 2) DXLAB 3) Logger32 I also broadcast UDP packets from FLDIGI_UDP and W1TR Rig Control, but use a different XML Document Name. With the use of the <app> element, I could change those to RadioInfo as well. + As far as I'm concerned, the N1MM team should continue owning and maintaining the XML specifications; I'm happy to keep following their lead. If there's a need for more precise frequency resolution, ask them to consider providing it. 73, Dave, AA6YQ

RadioInfo UDP Packet - Proposal - <app> element to identify source

2300? News to me Phil, but plenty of time to get an auto-update released. And, I just went on-line to submit my vote for the celebratory Big Ben chimes. To show my full support for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, I voted for 'Oh Canada'. SeventyThree(s) and thanks for the correction.

Bob – Please make sure the start time for the Logger32 Brexit re-configuration for UK stations is at 2300z on 31st January, which is the official time we withdraw from the EU and when the Brexiteers want Big Ben to have a special chime. The specially minted 50p pieces come out the next day. 73 Phil

Re: IC7610 is not changing modes
Dave Colliau
No problem. I havent looked at this file in a while so if there are any errors let me know. I had fun creating that and the CI-V commands for the RCP when I had my 7610. I do still have a 7300 but my main rig is a FTDX5k. Were going to need a boat here for the weather coming and possibly ice also. Since the WX is going down the tubes I will be around all weekend if you need anything. I might accidentally get some work done in the shack :)

AWESOME Dave, thanks for this. I am sure it is something simple I am missing. I will play with it when I am off work and if power stays in this weekend, I will finish. They are talking Ice Storm here starting today. This and my CW Skimmer which will eventually be in Tanzania later is priority in my shack time.

Aki, the real fun and games don't start until February 1st (coincidentally my Birthday). Users with G callsigns will have a third option to choose from. Configuring for BREXIT will log QSOs starting at February 1, 0000. SeventyThree(s).

Re: IC7610 is not changing modes

Ok found my file and emailed it to you Chuck. As far as the RCP goes there are endless possibilities for macro commands . I remember I had a ton setup in Logger 32 for my 7610. If you look at the CI-V command manual and figure out how everything works the possibilities are endless. If I can be of any help just shoot me an email.

Set up properly the 7610 should follow the band plan and switch to the proper mode when changing frequencys. I had mine set to also when clicking on a dx spot that was split to split and also make the B vfo the main vfo to find the hole in the pile up for txing. As of right now I havent found my cat setup commands but I havent given up yet. Since Icom pissed me off and I got away from my 7610 I havent taken very good care of my files. I am still looking.

Aki, a few clues would be helpful. My first SWAG would be for something simple/obvious like the top/left corner of the Worked/Confirmed window showing 2020. SeventyThree(s)AndHappyNewYear.

Long story short:
Before update to 405 in Wsjt-x window I saw only callsigns I "need" to work. After update I see all decoded callsigns no matter worked/confirmed before. I tried to change blocking options, does not work. Mike

Re: cherry picking

This is an exciting thread ... I have absolutely no idea what the complaint is, so I'll take the easy way out, and just go back to bed. If/when someone can explain what is not working as expected, maybe I will read my eMail again. But, for now, my sole focus in life is trying to figure out what does a 'Royal' do when he/she doesn't want to be 'Royal' anymore? And, why does anyone care? ... But, back to the thread ... the orignal message started "same here" ... is that the hamlogger equivalent of #metoo? I can't wait, only 12 weeks (or thereabouts) an April 1st will be behind us for another year. Such senseless buffoonery. 'Nite all.
