Difficult question to answer - Does Logger32 support split?  To be technically accurate, no. While Logger32 can tell if is a radio is split, it doesn't really care. There are eye-candy windows that show the TX/RX frequencies and split, but it's just eye-candy. The Logbook Entry window (and UDP broadcast frequency) shows VFO A of the current radio. Typically one would be expected to receive on VFO A and transmit on VFO B (and that's the default for logging split QSOs). Depending on the users preference, one can get a little carried away (unnecessarily IMHO). SeventyThree(s).

Bob,

A final question…

I presume that Logger32 supports SPLIT operation?

When in SPLIT mode, does the frequency in the UDP packet contain the RX or TX frequen???

HFAUTO needs the TX frequency so as to set the L/C elements for transmit rather than receive.

Bob,

This appears to work perfectly in a quick SMOKE TEST…

1)      It seems like the periodic broadcast happens about every 5 seconds, checked by changing my CAT TMO from 1 to 5 where CAT is not lost, default is 20 for this.
DXLAB and N1MM are also about 5 seconds

2)      The UDP Packet I’m receiving is:
<?xml version="1.0"?><RadioInfo><Freq>1396350</Freq><app>Logger32</app></RadioInfo>

3)      When changing frequency, there is a slight lag of a significant fraction of a second, but for purposes here, not a problem, depends on polling rate to the radio.

Thanks for fixing this an accommodating the Logger32 users that also use the HFAUTO software !

our emails crossed, I just found the same as you state.

Ok, guys got it working at last !

the file SSN.dat to be amended is the one find at following path:
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Afreet\Reference

and not the one in the HamCap folder.

OK, I figured this out.

The key is to read the instruction from the author, hihi.

The new SSN file is in the download area of the software and the key to finding the location of the old file (it is NOT living with the program file) is to key into the command line „%appdata%\afreet\reference“ to open the directory where it is located.

All OK here now (Win10)

Hi Villi,

file name is SSN.dat and is located in the Ham Cap folder,
but as I have just posted, despite editing the file with new data
it doens't go past Dec. 2019.

Also I notice that, at least in my case, when I open it, month is fixed to Jan. 2005
and is not updated by system clock.

Hi again John and Paul,

it still doesn't work here, mine too starts at 2005 and end up to 2019,
no way to go above.

I am using Win 10 here, I did try with both John datas and those downloaded
from here: http://www.dxatlas.com/Download.asp

no way to get it work.
As you can see VE3NEA is providing data up to 2022, so it should work, but it don't do here.

Just made another test, deleted old data and saved only new ones (actually starting form Jan. 2019),
strange enough HamCap still starts from Jan. 2005. ???

Please keep me posted if you get any info.

Running Win10 here Paul.

I just altered the data in your file to match the format of the original SSN.dat file and pasted it in.

Ah, I think I see the problem! By any chance are you still running Win7? I moved to Win10 a short time ago and now it doesn't work. On top of that the web site does NOT say that it works under Win10. Wait to see what Alex says, but I think that's going to be the issue. If you have Win7, download my file or use G7SSE's data and it shud work OK.

I'm sooooooooooo sri, you're right. When I foresaw this problem I extended the file and tested it. It worked fine. HOWEVER, there appears to be a hard coded problem in the code which won't work with a system clock past 2019-12-31! Hmmmm, that's why he stopped the data there. Mine starts stuck back in 2005 and won't progress past Dec 2019 too. So, we'll have to wait for the author to try to catch up with it.

Hi Paul and Mike,

excerpt from Ham Cap readme.txt file:

3.3. Notes on Prediction Parameters

Ham CAP has a built-in database of historical and predicted SSN values.
The SSN field is populated from this database whnever you change
the Year and Month field. Of course, you can override this value
with you own one. VOACAP requires a smoothed SSN number that is available from
many sources. Click on the button to the left of the SSN field to download SSN
off the web.

Downloaded file gives you the data to amend original file

Hi Paul,

Interesting, will have a look at your SSN file. I slave my Ham Cap to IonoProbe so have never used update manually. However, it won't accept IonoProbe input at present.

I have emailed Alex and he will hopefully sort it out.

This doesn't look Kosher, Haram, or Halal to me (maybe its Vegan, I wouldn't know). It looks like two messages 1) FE FE 98 E0 26 00 FD and 2) FE FE E0 98 26 00 00 00 02 FD all joined together. As you haven't mention if this ever worked, if its a new radio, or what your configuration parameters are, I can only make a SWAG - Try cranking the poll interval down to something like 200ms as an experiment.
