Question WSJT and Operator Window
Glen - W5IF
Using latest Logger 32 and WSJT with Icom 7600 on FT4/FT8. All working well there and logging is working great.
Is there a way while I am monitoring WSJT that I can double click on a CQ call and have it populate Logger32 Operator window and thus invoking Previous QSO window. Right now I am manually inputting a questioned call into Operator window of Logger32 to check for dupes.
Read help files in both programs and don’t see this addressed. Suggestions appreciated.

Re: IC 7610 settings for WSJT-x/JTDX
Bob
Not sure what your expectations are, but typically when using WSJT/JTDX Logger32 relinquishes control of the radio and WSJT/JTDX takes over. This happens automagically if you start/stop WSJT/JTDX from the UDP BandMap menus. When starting WSJT/JTDX Logger32 first changes the radio configuration (if you want it to - example: turn off split, set the radio to USB, turn off processor, set agc, set bandwidth, etc.) the it closes the radio port. WSJT/JTDX starts and opens the radio port and does whatever it does. And, adter Logger32 stops WSJT/JTDX it opens the radio port and resets the radio back to how/where it was before all this nonsense started. So, When running Logger32 & WSJT/JTDX, Logger32 is not involved in anything concerning the radio.
You can, if you like, keep Logger32 in charge of the radio and fake WSJT/JTDX into thinking it's in charge by setting its radio type to none and PTT by VOX. By doing things this way, you loose the automatic frequency synchronization between WSJT/JTDX (Change WSJT/JTDX to 40M FT4 the radio does not move).
So, step one is to figure out how you want it to work. And, to make your life much easier, work on getting a simple configuration working first ... Just the radio. SeventyThree(s).

IC 7610 settings for WSJT-x/JTDX
I have all running with IC 7610 changing bands via Logger32. Also, changing Toyko Hy pwr via 3.5mm cable. Have com 4 & 5 showing in device manager.
I must use CI-V address as 5c to get data to Toyko. CI-V Trans as ON CI-V USB/LAN remote as 8E CI-V USB port as Link to REMOTE I have tried about every combination I can come up with inside the setup for WSJT without success. Any help ? Thanks, Glen K0JGH

That is a very old version of the lookup that no longer works. Go to my website http://www.n2amg.com/software/l32lookups-for-logger32/ and on the page that opens download the L32Lookups full install. Install it on your computer it defaults to c:\L32lookups directory. After doing that open Logger32 and click on the 7th icon from the right on the top toolbar. When the window opens click the Toolbox menu and then click Setup External module. When that window opens on the line that is configured click the browse button and navigate to where you just installed L32Lookups and select L32Lookups.exe once you have done that click the start button and close out the windows. Now do a lookup of your own call by entering it in the Callsign window and pressing tab. The first time the program runs it should open the setup window where you enter the lookup type (XML) and enter in your username and password…

Odd behaviour starting v3.50.403 today
I went to start Logger32 today after the auto-update of v3.50.403 yesterday. Up comes an install sequence for Roxio LJB! I stopped it and tried again. Same result. I swapped the current logger32.exe for the previous one and still the same. Odd. I rebooted and still the same. Checked path being used by shortcut. OK. In the meantime my xyl's machine squarked for a MalwalreBytes install. Set that off. Then I came back and updated my Malwarebytes [thinking "You never know, do you?"]. Weeeeeeell. Very weird. MalwareBytes asks for a reboot after install. It boots and then logger32 runs as normal.
I don't know what logger32, Roxio LJB and MalwareBytes all have to do with each other, but there's something! PC: Toughbook CF-55 16GB Win10Pro. MalwareBytes and SpyBot S&P don't detect any problems. 73, Paul W4/VP9KF [and G4BKI] *CW Club Call History files: http://www.g4bki.com/club_call_history.htm Member: 4SQRP (1945) 9AQRP (161/2) A1A [253] A1C (1745) CCT (200) CQC (1029) CQCW (571) CTC (3224/5) WJF (790) ECWARC (450) ex-FOC (1578) FFQRP (102) FISTS (19223) FoCoCW (--) FPQRP (4128) GTC [1442] LIDS (231) NAQCC (9881) NEQRP (855) NOC (1) NZQRP (--) QRQcw (--) RCWC (1211) SKCC (20141) SOC (1000) TBDXC (900) WAB (1496)

I guess one other though. When I tick “Block callsigns with no highlight from my country” in UDP Config, callsigns with the grid highlighted are not included what gets shown. That might be nice to have.

It also occurs with not needed gridsquares, i.e. to9w this morning, even though the gridsquare was in the udp message (debug window open), and give rise to a tooltip, it was not visible. The invisible gridsquare also allowed me to send a cluster spot. Hope this helps.

L32LogSync Update
Rick Ellison
Due to the recent change at Clublog updating their security protocol I have
posted an update for L32LogSync on my website. http://www.n2amg.com/software/l32-logsync/ Sometime in the next 24hours you should get an notice to auto-update or you can go to the website and download it. Besides correcting the ClubLog changes this also finishes the re-write of the Built in FTP application. I have some minor issues to handle but they have nothing to do with the operation of the FTP portion of the program. 73 Rick N2AMG

Nice, thanks Bob. I have noticed a couple times now that when a needed gridsquare gets highlighted the text of it disappears form the UDP bandmap. I’ll keep watching for a reoccurrence. The highlight remained.

... is on-line, and hopefully connections to Club Log are working again. For those who operate FT4/FT8 there is a new feature added to the UDP BandMap - You can now make DX Spots by right clicking on the GRIDSQUARE column of the decoded station. To enable/setup this feature, on the UDP BandMap click CONFIG | DX SPOT OPTIONS. The simple option adds the mode to the comments field. The formatted option adds the mode, signal level, gridsquare, and audio offset to the DX Spot. SeventyThree(s).

Re: Logger32 + FTdx-5000 + SDR Panadapter
I messed around with a USB SDR fed from the IF of my K3 for a couple of years. It was OK but fiddly to set up.
Then I bought a 2nd K3 with a “free” P3 thrown in. I was very dubious about its little screen … until I started using it. Now I really miss it operating a plain K3 at the club.
The little LCD display is bright and clear. I have tried the VGA output on a large screen but it’s no better for me and just wastes desk space.
It shows lots of useful things:
The only thing I really miss from my SDR setup is the ability to overlay callsigns from cluster spots or Skimmer or (I guess) data decoders, on the waterfall. It would be too much for the little P3 LCD but would be handy on a desktop screen. [I used a Flex radio in CQ WW CW with a front-panel panadaptor display that could show callsigns: it was too crowded & busy for my liking, but then I only had a few hours in the dead of night during the contest to learn how to use the radio!]
So, all in all, I’m a convert. The P3 has turned out to be a worthwhile addition to my station, more use than the 2nd K3 in fact!
The P3 box is mostly empty. I’m tempted to separate out the LCD to fill a more convenient gap right in my eye-line rather than off to one side. Maybe I’ll try adding a little external display instead.

Ive tried the RSP1,1a and the 2 . Didnt really excite me. I also fed the 9mhz out to the input of my 7300 ! . It worked . I havent figured out why I need some fancy colored screen to show me who is on the band. I dont use the scope on the 7300 either. To each their own but it seems like just eye candy to sell radios. Being pretty much a dxer I just watch the spots . There are options though. Dave N8DC

Thanks Dave. Well I am in the same boat as you pretty much. I'm not sue I really need one so not sure if I am willing to put out the expenditure plus the time needed to get it all working for what it really does. I had one working on my FT2000, not fully integrated with my Logger and it really didn't excite me that much. But I figured Santa has been asking me what I want and I have been a good boy....
