ic-7300 filter problem.

NICK K. PLUMIDAKIS

Hi to all.
I recently got the IC-7300 as a replacement to my old radio, and I have the following issue:
Every time that I an "clicking" to a spot in any phone mode the radio goes to the Filter No.2 instead to N.1 that is the filter that I want to start off.
I don’t know if is something wrong with my settings in the radio, in Logger (I am trying to find it with no luck) or it is something else?
I cannot find anything wrong, according to me, in my settings.
Any help will be appreciated.
P.S. It happens in FT8 and FT4 also.

You might want to consider upgrading to a more current version of Loger32. SeventyThree(s).

Tony,

You have to have access to a valid cluster that lets you in, so to speak.

There are several, I use OH2J and will describe according to that.

First you have to set up the telnet within Logger32.

Make sure you have the Telnet drop down selected in the Telnet window, point somewhere on the blank part of the window and right click.

That opens the drop down menu == select Setup (second from bottom) and you get another menu with three options, select the middle one.

There you key in the shortcut name ( I use OH2J-7) in the left most column, in the middle one you key in ham.connect.fi and the port number is 7300

Next you click on Add Current entry button.

I suppose that it then becomes blank, point at the shortcut arrow and select the OH2J-7 entry and click on Set as default button.

Close the Telnet setup pane and now this should be available in the Telnet drop down menu.

You might have to give some information for the first time you use the cluster, but after that it can even be automated.

Try this out and let us know if there is a success.

Re: Lotw

Bob

Paul, there are two different sources for loading LoTW users. You can download the test file LoTWUsers.txt from http://www.wd5eae.org/LoTW_Data.txt (or other similar sources) this is then loaded into the LoTW users database of Logger32, or you can download more comprehensive data from Club Log that is saved in the file clublog_users.json (you can open it with notepad or whatever) before loading into the Logger32 LoTW users database. The highlighted menu downloads and populates the LoTWUsers.txt file:

OK? SeventyThree(s).

2. Click Setup
3. Click "Load LoTW user file (from ClubLog)"
4. Small window appears. Click Start button.

Re: DX Spots

Ady, YO2NAA

Hi all,

these comments are actually not HTML, it is a convention used for many years to display VHF&up QSOs on https://www.dxmaps.com, including both locators and the propagation mode.
The key string is something like KN05NS<MS>JN34MM. If the locators are omitted, calls having the locator in the database of dxmaps.com will still be displayed.
If the prop mode is not specified, the parsing software on dxmaps.com will try to guess the propagation mode.
Here are some spots from dxmaps.com:
image.png

Some programs are sending the dx spots automatically including comments in this format.

You are using an old version. If you go to my website and look directly below the full installer you will find the latest version.

Second I think you have moved the program off the screen. Open up the directory where the program is installed. Then double click on LogSync.ini and look for the Top and left settings. Change both of them to 0 and save the file. Make sure Logsync is not open when you edit the .ini file. The next time you load Logsync it should be located in the upper left corner of your screen.

Pete, the way I have things configured, I have the auto lookup set to open minimized (so I can't see it). That way the data is retrieved without distracting my focus from the porn video I'm watching on the other monitor. If/when I actually want to eyeball the auto lookup window (like going back through ancient logs and filling in the blanks), clicking on the QSO/Callsign in the Logbook Page Window opens the auto lookup window in all its glory. Gotta get your priorities right. SeventyThree(s).

If I manually enter a QSO, after entering the call, I hit TAB, HamQTH opens and it fills in the state, I hit ENTER, and it logs everything. Perfect.

When I cherry pick, JTDX makes the QSO, then it’s logged. I’m not seeing HamQTH open, and not logging the state.

I did RTFM.

That would be awesome after the cherry picker has been on 6m.
