DX Spots Map not displaying spots.

David Leckie

Running V3.50.385

Win10 Pro 64 bit.

Telnet connected to GB7UJS and logged in OK.

In the Telnet window the DX spots are scrolling along fine.  Tab is labelled GB7UJS

DX Spots window is active and displaying the data from the Telnet window correctly.

Its also scrolling away as the DX spots come in.

So far so good.

The problem is with the DX Spots map.

Setup DX Spots is setup exactly the same as in the Help File.

Now if I go to View>Show Tracking Window the window displays OK.

If I select DX Spots it says 0 stations in 0 countries.  After 1 hour still no spots shown.

If I select IOTA it gives 0 unique Iota stations.  Now there is an EA6 and an EA8 in the DX spots window.  These being IOTA only prefixes they should show in the IOTA window?

Show all DX spots is selected.

Persistence is set to 30 minutes.

Greyline seems fine - moving slowly west as time passes.

Satellite seems fine.

Sometimes View DX causes a crash with a “Invalid Call to Procedure” message.

In previous versions of logger32 I have had this working OK but I am unsure of exactly when the issue started.

I have read the help files and searched the groups.io site but cannot see any help.

As no one else  has posted this issue it must be something to do with my setup but what?

Re: Worked/Confirmed window: SAT qso not showing up?

Alessandro, As you can see by the layout of the Worked/Confirmed Window it is intended to show HF DXCC worked/confirmed statistics. I know nothing about DXCC, but it is my understanding the satellite QSOs do not count for HF DXCC. This is why they are not included in the Worked/Confirmed Window. SeventyThree(s).

This was also my understanding. When a QSO is marked SAT in prop mode it is excluded from country wkd/cfmd window BUT it is included in SAT DXCC stats and window. It looks a nonsense to me as I would expect the QSO being included also in Country wkd/cfmd window since:
- it is a real qso
- country wkd/cfmd does not shows any kind of filter
So why exclude the qso from this window?

Hi Alessandro,

You're not doing anything wrong.
The confirmed/Worked window simply is not able to produce stats for Satellite QSO's only.

Re: Unable to install logger32

Gerald Boutin

Since you have a new install of Windows 10, even though you haven't installed any updates or other software, Windows 10 is surely trying to download and install updates. Let it finish it's downloading and rebooting.

After that is sorted out, add exceptions for Windows Defender (Windows 10 built-in antivirus software) and Controlled Folder Access (aka Ransomeware protection). You might be able to get away with temporarily disabling those programs while installing L32.

Re: Unable to install logger32

That should do the trick. UAC is off, no antivirus software, then what's blocking the install? Sorry, I have no idea. There's no shortage of logging programs around, I'm sure you'll find on that installs right out of the box.  Not sure how you're trying to do the install, but all I can suggest is make a desktop folder. Keep it's default name New Folder. Unzip the Logger32 full install zip file into the New Folder. Open the folder. Right click on setup.exe icon and run as administrator. After that,, you're on your own. SeventyThree(s).
