Rich, draw your own conclusions. SeventyThree(s).

From the FT4_protocol.pdf document at https://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx.html

Modulation uses 4-tone frequency-shift keying at approximately 23.4 baud, with tones separated by the baud rate

From the Brief Description of the FT8 Protocol at http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/ft8.txt

The mode name "FT8" stands for "Franke and Taylor, 8-FSK modulation".

FT4 is different than FT8, JT65 etc. thus the designation is different.
I’m no guru, but where FT8 switches frequencies, FT 4 sweeps from frequency to frequency. Someone else can describe it better than I, I’m sure. But they are different.
