WEDNESDAY 12 OCTOBER (evening): PIANO RECITAL by MARC CORBETT-WEAVER at ST. GEORGE'S, HANOVER SQUARE (50 tickets at the special price of £5, but advance purchase required - deadline: 6pm on Monday 10 October)
Marc Corbett-Weaver, Artistic Director of the London Firebird Orchestra (LFO - http://www.firebirdorchestra.com ), has kindly offered my members up to 50 tickets at the specially discounted price of £5 for his piano recital on Wednesday 12 October at St. George's, Hanover Square, starting at 7.30pm. Many of you will recognise Marc from previous concerts. Click on http://www.marccorbett-weaver.com/biography to read more about him.
The Programme: Debussy's Pour le Piano; Ravel's Jeux d'Eau; Beethoven's Sonata in F minor, Op. 57 (Appassionata); and, after the interval, Chopin's Nocturne in B flat minor, Op. 9, No. 1; Liszt's Jeux d'Eaux à La Ville d'Este; and four preludes by Rachmaninoff (Prelude in C sharp minor, Op. 2, No. 2; Prelude in D major, Op. 23, No. 4; Prelude in G minor, Op. 23, No. 5; and Prelude in D flat major, Op. 32, No. 13). PDF programmes will be e-mailed to guests on the day. Please click on http://www.marccorbett-weaver.com/concerts to see programme details on Marc's website.
Venue and Transport Details: The concert will be held in the Parish Church of Saint George, St. George Street, W1S 1FX ( http://www.stgeorgeshanoversquare.org ), just south of Hanover Square. You may like to view a map at https://tinyurl.com/3yasnar8 and further information at http://www.stgeorgeshanoversquare.org/Getting-here.html . The nearest tube station is Oxford Circus (Central, Victoria and Bakerloo Lines, Zone 1), but Bond Street, Piccadilly Circus and Green Park stations are also within easy walking distance.
Ticket Price: We have been offered tickets at the very special price of £5 (including booking fees). The original price of tickets is £25 and £20 (excluding booking fees), and we are being offered £20 tickets.
Booking/Payment Procedure: Click on https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/RevolutionArts/t-avavqmn and then on "BOOK NOW". Then select the number of Tier 2 tickets at £20 you wish to purchase and click on "Next". Type (or copy and paste) GORDON2022 in the space for a discount code, and select Eticket for delivery (as this delivery option is free) or Mobile ticket (cost: 50 pence) to have your tickets sent to your mobile phone. Then click on "use discount code". (Importantly, the code needs to be typed in UPPERCASE letters and Tier 2 needs to be selected). You should see that your total cost has been discounted by £16.68 a ticket, so that you will pay £5.00 (including the booking fee) instead of £20.00 (plus the booking fee) for each ticket. Click on "checkout" to make your purchase by debit or credit card. Note that there is NO NEED to print your ticket(s) as your name will be on a guest list, and Marc's team will e-mail you your seat numbers on the day. The deadline for booking is 6pm on Monday 10 October, but the offer could be withdrawn earlier should my allocation of 50 tickets become fully subscribed. Please be aware that only those who have purchased their tickets in advance will be able to avail themselves of the special price for my group as no discounted tickets will be available on the night. Anyone arriving without having booked would need to pay the full price at the main ticket desk. Should you have any queries regarding your booking, please e-mail info@... and not myself.
On Arrival: Please note that you will not be allowed inside the church until the doors open at 6.45pm. Enter the church by the middle doors, and go to the main ticket desk where your name(s) will be ticked off (no paper tickets will be issued), and you can be reminded of your seat number(s) if necessary. Although you are asked to arrive in good time, please note that there is no advantage in arriving extremely early as the seats will be numbered and will have been pre-allocated by Marc's team. The concert is likely to be well attended, and it is important that you sit in your allocated seat.
Summary of Timings: 6.45pm - doors open; 7.30pm - concert starts; 8.15pm (approx.) - interval starts; 8.35pm (approx.) - second part of concert starts; 9.15pm (approx.) - concert ends.
Refreshments: Wine and soft drinks will be available to purchase from 6.45pm and during the interval. You may wish to order your interval drinks before the start of the concert to save queueing in the interval. You will find me near the bar from about 7pm, and during the interval.
