GB2350: Saturday 7 May: Harpsichord Recital in Chiswick
Gordon
Message 2350:
SATURDAY 7 MAY (evening): BACH'S GOLDBERG VARIATIONS played on the HARPSICHORD by NATHANIEL MANDER at CHISWICK CATHOLIC CENTRE (half-price admission for "Gordon's friends" until the end of April, and then 40% discount, when booked/paid through Eventbrite)
(Optional) Meeting, Transport and Venue Details: Meet Gordon on Saturday 7 May, between 6.50pm and 7pm, at Turnham Green tube station (District Line, Zones, 2/3) in the ticket hall. We will go to Chiswick Catholic Centre, 2 Dukes Avenue, W4 2AE. To see a map showing the location of the centre, click on https://tinyurl.com/ymhd23bc . If you would find it more convenient, you could instead use Chiswick Park tube station (District Line, Ealing Broadway Branch, Zone 3), only slightly further than Turnham Green station. The District Line is scheduled to operate in West London as usual, but there will be no service east of Tower Hill.
The Concert: We will be treated to J. S. Bach's Goldberg Variations, performed for us by the British harpsichordist Nathaniel Mander ( http://www.nathanielmander.com ). This performance is in celebration of his new recording of this work, and will be a debut recording. You can read more details on Eventbrite at https://tinyurl.com/3jsabp2x . This event is organised by Ivo Varbanov whom many of you will remember from the Clerkenwell International Music Series.
Afterwards: Immediately after the concert, there will be a Q&A, and after that drinks will be available. You can choose to order a glass of wine when you book your tickets (and get a discount), or pay for drinks by card or cash at the event. There will be red and white wine and soft drinks.
Timings: The doors will open at 7pm, and the recital will start at 7.30pm and last for an hour. There will be no interval. The evening will end at about 9.45pm.
Booking Procedure: Click on https://tinyurl.com/3jsabp2x , then click on "Tickets". Click on "Enter promo code" and type (or copy and paste) GORDONB and then click on "Apply". You should see that each ticket price has been reduced by 50%, if you book by the last day of April, and 40% thereafter. The FULL prices are as follows: Standard Ticket, £15; VIP Ticket (including a glass of wine), £20; VIP + CD Ticket, £30; Young Person Ticket (for those aged 17 and below - but no children under 7, please), £5; and Senior Citizen Ticket (for those aged 60 and above), £10. Select the number of tickets you want to purchase from each category, and go to "Checkout". Immediately after booking, you should receive an e-mail confirmation. There is no need to print your ticket, or show it on a mobile device, as your name will be on the guest list. If you choose not to book and pay in advance, I am afraid that you will need to pay the full price of your tickets at the door.
