Message 2356:
WEDNESDAY 8 JUNE (evening): LONDON CHORAL FESTIVAL 2022 at ST. JAMES'S, PICCADILLY (complimentary seats, but advance booking with UK Travel Designers advised - deadline 2pm on Tuesday 7 June)
Robin Jackson, of UK Travel Designers Ltd. ( http://www.ukgrouptravel.com ), has kindly offered my members approximately 100 complimentary tickets for a concert given by (mainly) Colorado choirs, taking place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 8 June at St. James's, Piccadilly.
The Programme: This will be an evening of uplifting choral music with over 75 voices combining passion with talent. Participating choirs include Colorado Repertory Singers ( https://www.coloradorepertorysingers.org ), Rocky Mountain High School Choir, Erie Summers Singers, and the City of London Academy Highgate Hill Choir. The artistic director will be Kyle Fleming. You can see more details at https://www.sjp.org.uk/music-arts-ideas/free-concert-london-choral-festival-2022 .
The Venue: The address is St. James's Church, 197 Piccadilly, W1J 9LL. The nearest tube station is Piccadilly Circus (Piccadilly and Bakerloo Lines), but it is also within easy walking distance from Green Park (Piccadilly, Jubilee and Victoria Lines). You can view a map at https://tinyurl.com/y7pk72dd .
Summary of Timings: The main hall will open at 7pm (so if you arrive earlier than that, you will not be able to take your seats), and the performance will start at 7.30pm. There will be no interval (just short breaks between choirs), and the concert will end between 8.45pm and 9pm.
Booking: Mandy Jackson, of UK Travel Designers Ltd., is kindly dealing with the booking requests from my group. Please reserve your tickets by e-mailing her at mandy@... [mandy "at" ukgrouptravel "dot" com] by no later than 2pm on Tuesday 7 June. Please head your message with the following subject: "Wed 8 June//GB". In the body of your message, you should state your full name and the total number of places you require, and you should receive an e-mail acknowledging your request within about one working day, and in any case by 6pm on Tuesday 7 June. Please type your surname (family name) in CAPITAL letters to make it easier for Mandy to produce a guest list in alphabetical order. If you are bringing any guests, you do not need to give their names (for example: John SMITH; 3 places please). It is important that you do not book unless you are sure that you can go and that you will be able to arrive on time. On this occasion, you may book up to 4 tickets per application, but please DO NOT request more tickets than you are sure you will use. Mandy will reserve prominent seating for members of my group, so there is a definite advantage in booking your places rather than just turning up.
Ticket Collection: No paper tickets will be issued. On arrival, look for a table with a sign saying "Friends of Gordon Beal's". I will be at this table from 7pm until shortly before the start of the concert. After I have ticked your name(s) off, you will be shown to the reserved seating area.
Charity Event: This concert is supporting Youth Music charity ( http://www.youthmusic.org.uk ), and should you wish to donate some money (cash only) on the night, this will be gratefully appreciated. There will be a retiring collection at the end of the evening.
