GATE to support ocr functions

Dear All, I tested the service of GATE cloud: https://cloud.gate.ac.uk/shopfront/displayItem/ml-ocr Which provides the result I need for my application, and I would like to know if this function is available as plugin in GATE desktop?, or if the code of this app is available as open source?. Or if this app is only available online, with the restriction of 150 api calls per day?. is there another way to apply OCR on gate desktop? Best regards. Luis Ramos |

Luis,
The OCR tool is only available as a
service, with the relatively low quota being because it is quite
computationally intensive, running on a GPU server. We can offer
higher quotas for research users in return for suitable
acknowledgement when you publish, if you think this would apply to
your project please contact us via
https://cloud.gate.ac.uk/contact/email
Alternatively the same service with a
slightly different API is published via the European Language Grid
(https://live.european-language-grid.eu/catalogue/tool-service/18124)
where the quota system is based on the total number of bytes of
data processed rather than just the number of calls.
