Switching references from Lumped to Split
Gary <gary.gauthier@...>
One thing that worries me about switching to FH7 is converting my referencing style.
Has anyone seen a way to take an imported RM9 database based upon lumped references and generating one based on the equivalent split references, which FH seems to favour?
Changing the templates over is simple enough, but obviously the specific citation data would be lost during the switch.
It's a long-shot, but I've seen some SQL experts do some pretty amazing things by directly manipulating the database.
The only other alternative is to print out the RM9 references, modify the template to strictly splitting and then re-enter the missing data.
Regards;
Gary

If you read this page
https://fhug.org.uk/kb/kb-article/importing-to-family-historian/
and specifically the section on Import from RootsMagic you
will see that in the paragraph Converting to Split Sources
there is a link to a Lumped Source Splitter plugin,
designed to do what you want.
