Navigation Bar and Property Box Toolbar

Sue Paul

Good Morning

I am finding it increasingly difficult to use some of the Family Historian buttons such as those on the Navigation Bar, Property Box Toolbar, and the Edit Media Item Toolbar. Is there any way to increase the size of these, please?

Kind regards,

Sue

You can set the size of the main window in tools/preferences/display

Thanks, but I have already set the toolbar size to "big" and I still struggle. I guess I need an "Extra Big" option. The trials of aging ...

Have you tried the Windows Magnifier app?

No, I hadn't thought of that. I shall have to give it a try.

Yes, you can use Windows Magnifier once you work out how to move from left to right and up and down.

Apologies for only joining this thread now.

I have a similar problem to Sue, tiny toolbar buttons, even when set to 'Big'.

I have a laptop with a UHD screen and using the Windows recommended setting, 3840x2160, gives the situation that Sue described. I could use Windows Magnifier but I only really need that for the buttons. I have come to the conclusion that when I'm using FH it is 'easier' to set the screen resolution to 1920x1080 (one operation) and then resetting when I have finished (one operation), rather than opening and closing Magnifier every time I want to use a toolbar button.

I should perhaps mention that doing that means I only need the 'Medium' setting for Toolbar

Best wishes
Stuart

I sometimes have issues with my laptop screen - 3840x 2400. There is a lot of software that doesn't cope well with high resolution.

Hotkey Resolution Changer solves the problems for me: https://hotkey-resolution-changer.en.softonic.com

It's old but works fine for me on Windows 10, Malcolm.

It may be worth exploring the ‘Scale’ option in your Windows Display settings. I have the toolbar size set to ‘Big’ and the icons are too small unless I set Scale to 125%.
