Extended Fact Set

I have had some finger trouble and managed to delete my extended fact set.  How do I go about recovering it?

Hi Margaret,

I assume you have not used either of the Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings plugins.

That would provide a solution, so once we have sorted out the problem, use one of them to create backups.

 

The solution is to close FH and use Windows File Explorer to copy from:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Family Historian\Fact Types\Extended Set.fhf

to

C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Fact Types\Custom\Extended Set.fhf

 

Beware that C:\ProgramData\ may be a hidden folder.

I've managed to retrieve my extended fact set.

I have also got one of the Backup and Restore plugins, all now backed up onto my external drive.
