Auto date input when adding Media!
Paul, with FH 7.0.19 I’ve tried adding Media and the Date field is always blank.
There are many ways to add Media via the Add menu, Media tabs, drag & drop, etc.
Exactly which method are you using?
Do they all auto-add the Date?
What is your Tools > Preferences > Media > Copy Image Tag values setting?
Tools->Prefs->Media->Copy tag Images is ticked.
My normal process is adding media to a Citation.
Saved an image of a death record to my project folder.
Sourced and cited the Death info.
Changed to the Media tab, Add to citation. Insert from file. I then edit the file to give it a keyword of Death Record and then add the date when the estate was processed in the Date field. It now defaults to the current date or possibly the date that I downloaded the image,
Thanks, Mike. Unticking that Copy Tag values seems to do the trick.
Why?
Paul does not want the Date in the Media file copied to the Media record Date field.
So he has disabled the Copy Image Tag Values feature to prevent the Date being copied.
