500 Whoops!

Mike: my mistake. Another instance of brain fade. Forget the bit about restarting, I was obviously thinking of something else...

Yes, the advice in the FHUG Forums was to first close FH and then delete the folder. https://www.fhug.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21093#p129336
Can you explain what you mean by just restarting FH? How does that differ from closing FH completely?
From: family-historian@groups.io <family-historian@groups.io> On Behalf Of F97Russell Even though I deleted the C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\FH-WebView2 folder, the problem did reoccur. I ended up deleting the folder, closing FH completely (not just restarting), then opening it again. For the last four days, everything has worked as intended. |

HI Mike, Deleting the folder worked. Thank you. On 29/12/2022 10:52, Mike Tate wrote:

Hi Colin, I use the internal browser. FMP works fine
on my external one, Brave (or Chrome). Seems the issue was with
the internal browser. I deleted the file as specified in Mike
Tate's post and that fixed it. Thanks for your help. On 29/12/2022 07:26, Colin Spencer

This problem has been discussed several times in the FHUG Forums. Most recently in the topic ‘Findmypast hints - 500 Error message’: https://www.fhug.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=21349
It is probably caused by excessive numbers of people using FMP during the holidays.
Sometimes, deleting the C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\FH-WebView2 folder fixes the problem.

Hi Peter, It doesn't seem to make any difference if I'm logged in or not. Thanks, though. Patrick On 28/12/2022 23:30, Peter Rowley

I have had the same problem, but by logging into my FMP account, that fixed it Peter Rowley On Wed, 28 Dec 2022 at 23:23, Patrick Maloney <baggy212@...> wrote: Hi Everyone, |

Hi Everyone,
I had been using the FindMyPast hints on FH very successfully until a few days ago. The hints still show, but when I click on one I just get the '500 Whoops!' message. This has been invariable for several days now. Is anyone else struggling with this, or is it possible that there's some way I can fix it from my end? Thanks in advance, Patrick |
