REPORTING PROBLEM

Thanks Mike and Chris.  I tried that but no change to problem, so I deleted and re-installed the printer which appears to have solved the issue.  Fingers crossed.  Thanks everyone for your help.

... and having set A4 as "preferred paper size", tick "always print using these settings", otherwise the problem might reoccur next time.

I think the problem is the preference settings for your default Windows printer.

In Windows, use Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners

Select the Printer that is nominated as the Default and click Manage.

Then open Printing preferences and ensure that A4 is the preferred paper size.

Thank you everyone for your helpful replies. I found that the printer set up had indeed changed to the smallest paper size and I changed it to an A4 setting which resolved the issue. However, unlike in the past, it does not retain this setting and reverts to the smallest paper size. This also happens when printing charts. I have now upgraded to 7.0.18 as Mike suggested and the paper size retention issue still happens. Is there somewhere that I can make A4 the default paper size.

On the main menu bar, select File > Print Setup. Make sure that your paper size is set correctly.

I am using version 7.0.15 and have a reporting problem that started today.  The problem occurs whether using the pre-set reports or when using my custom reports.  The wording on the reports seems to be squeezed to the left of the page and so some of the wording overlaps.  I attach an example produced on the standard pre-set Individual Narrative Report.  Has anyone else come across this problem and can you suggest how to fix it.  Thank you.  Richard.

Hi Richard,

The first thing to do is update to FH V7.0.18 which has just been released at https://www.family-historian.co.uk/install7

Regarding the Report, I suspect you have the Printer Setup for something smaller than A4.

Try setting the Printer Name to Family Historian PDF and the Paper Size to A4.

Hi Richard,

I can recreate what looks like your issue by making the right hand
margin huge - worth checking it out. In the report Options > Page
Layout section has the margin controls.

Kind regards
