I got your email on my phone. Many messages from this group end up in my spam folder. Even though I move it to my inbox marking it as not junk they still return to the spam folder

Yes, Michael, I get all groups.io messages.

However, the Email address you have registered looks very unusual:

mikethomasuk@...

Perhaps the administrator could investigate.

Mike,

This is almost certainly a scam. We've had a similar one recently - having made contact, the scammer (who has either hacked the OP's email account, is using an address very similar or has spoofed the address) will then ask you to buy a gift voucher for him, and email to someone.

I suggest we ignore this post - apologies to Michael Thomas if it is genuine.

Sue.

Strange post indeed but the email address format is something groups.io does.

To rebuild it replace the = with @ and drop the rightmost 10 characters.

Mike, a lot of emails come through looking like that, so it isn’t suspicious in and of itself.

Hopefully when Michael Thomas sees this exchange, he’ll confirm that he sent the email or else that he has been hacked.

This is definitely a spam. I get them regularly. If you reply you get a follow-up email asking you to get something on Amazon and send it to someone and he will repay you. It is usually from someone you know, which makes it seem more genuine, but coming through the list makes it certain that it is a scam.

Helen, Mike the format of Michael’s email is the usual format for an .io group/forum (I own/manage/admin the Custodian4.io group/forum)

Perhaps Michael has already emailed the family-historian group but his previous posts weren’t cleared by the admins being a new member.

Best wishes and Kind regards
