Sort Date

I always use ABT, Bef, Aft or Bet date approximates and refine them as data quality improves.

I have tried entering  sort date without a real date but it always fills in the date from the sort date which is not accurate. Can I sort facts when I know the sequence but not any actual dates?

I always write 1600 app it ends up as c.1600

On the Date Entry Assistant, check "Separate Sort Date". This should allow you to enter a sort date without specifying a "real" date.
