Vyger, Why do you say "renaming is not part of FH 7.0.15"? Perhaps you have just not found it. Open the main Media window, select the media record, click the Media icon in the toolbar at the very top (not the colourful toolbar on the next row) and choose Rename Media File... This will rename the file on the hard disk and maintain the link with the Media record in FH. On 08/10/2022 13:56, Vyger wrote:

I saw a similar user backlash to other program discussions on the Rootsmagic groups.io forum, the answer there was to create a sub group for migrants or other software comparisons, I believe that is probably necessary here. |

Colin,
I can appreciate your point about this topic dragging on far too long, and perhaps the topic should have had a better name. Others, and I have made comparisons because we do NOT yet understand how to do things in Family Historian that we used/still do in Legacy while hoping to move to Family Historian. I'm ready to throw in the towel. Mark Trevithick |

As Colevalleygirl said I am not posting any more in this topic.

I have never used Legacy but have found these discussions useful. I think FH is a very powerful program which I know I am not using to its full potential. In fact I am at the basic user end of the scale but would love to develop my knowledge. Keep posting! Thanks. Jane |

I agree. Whilst not everyone needs these emails they are very relevant to anyone who migrates or considering it as they have habits in other programs. Just mute the topic if it's not for you. Best Wishes Neil Sent via BT Email App
From: colevalleygirl@... Colin,
You’re re-hashing discussions already held in this thread.
Questions about how to do things in FH which a user could previously do in Legacy (or any other programme) definitely have a place here to help users migrating to FH. And to answer those, we need to understand what was done in the other programme.
If you don’t want to see such threads, use the ‘Mute this topic’ link at the bottom of every email you receive.
This thread is probably winding up anyway, but only because there will be new questions about migrating from Legacy started as new topics.

I think this post has gone on too long Every day there is something compared or whatever -- Neil Grantham ------------------- Using FH 7 & AS 7 Researching Grantham, Skuce, Barrow, Birchall. |

When in Legacy do Legacy questions If you use FH then use FH user group I use both so do not see the point in continuously comparing each program in Legacy all the time How about terminating this thread and move on |
