Yes, it is easy to move the Project data and backups to another drive.
Actually, in this situation, it would be better to move the entire Documents folder to another drive. Google search for “How do I change the location of My Documents in Windows 10” and follow the advice.
That will move the Family Historian Projects folder and the backups to that new location.
In FH open the File > Project Window and choose More Tasks… > Project List > Choose Location for Projects… In the Browse For Folder dialogue select the Family Historian Projects folder in its new location.

My friend has been advised that she needs to change the drive that Family Historian saves its data by default. She currently saves to the C drive in the default position of C:Documents and then the two different folders for data and backup. Her C drive is too full and computer not working well so she needs to change the default drive where it will save data and backup.. She doesn't need to transfer the existing data and media as it was only a backup gedcom from Family Tree Maker which she decided to upgrade to the latest version and keep using. She does still want to keep FH to use for backup and reports. Can you please advise how to change the default save/backup settings. She has version 6 |
