I have been away from the tree for a while and upgraded AS TO VERSION 7. Enter details of the census in AS but after saving it doesn’t appear on FH.
I thought I’d selected method 2 and tried again and then selected method 1 ended up totally confused with nothing in FH and 3 entries against AS in Census history. Can you please explain what I’ve done wrong and how I can get rid of the multiple entires and get FH to update with Census details Thanks Kristeen Simpkin |

Hi Kristeen, For clarity, I believe by AS you refer to Ancestral Sources. When you have AS open, on the top bar, does it have your Project named? IE mine says Ancestral Sources v7.2.4: Project: Grantham2012 I would imagine though, if you don't have a project selected, when you try to submit the data it would tell you there is no project selected. To make sure, you can go to File>Open FH Project... and it then shows you the list of known projects If you have both AS and FH open, when you update AS, FH will respond after a while (not instant), to tell you it has been updated, and you confirm to reload the project. Likewise, if you change FH, AS will then ask you to reload. I presume you are using FH later than v4? AS is not recommended for versions lower than this. If this doesn't help, go to the specific AS help forum at Family Historian User Group (FHUG) here Ancestral Sources - Family Historian User Group (fhug.org.uk) where the author will respond and help you. In addition to Neil’s suggestions, there is a Plugin you can run in FH that ensures AS is opened with your current Project. See the Plugin Store entry for ‘Ancestral Sources Data Entry’.
