Create New Report
Keith McGraw <lesmac@...>
Newbie Currently I am starting to explore Ancestral Sources v5.2 which I have successfully downloaded onto my laptop yesterday.
Started to try to understand ‘Creating the Source Records’ section and settings, practising on ‘The Sample Project’.
- Are there any sample census ,birth, marriage or death certificates to download into AS ,I can practise with on The Sample Project? - Are there any Tutorial videos on how to download any of the above documents into AS?
At the moment my Outlook email inbox has been heavily loaded with emails from other group members that at the moment I do not have time to read. Is there any way that I can restrict to ‘only emails in and out to my group ‘Create New Report’ and important news updates’ until I have finished learning new skills?

Keith, When I replied before I said: In https://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=ancestralsources:index there are some tutorials that use the Family Historian Sample Project instead. They include sample source documents.
You cannot filter these Family Historian Emails as that is the way groups.io works, it is all or nothing. I suggest you abandon this Email group and join the FHUG which gives you control over how you interact, what Email notifications you get, etc.

If all your e-mails go into your main Inbox, why not create separate sub-folders within Outlook for your FH e-mails and, using Outlook rules, you can route FH emails into that specific folder (ie any email with "[family-historian]" in the subject line). Then if you wanted to you could then create sub-sub folders for separate FH topics for later perusal and move those new ones of interest into the relevant topic folder. Keith, At the bottom of the emails there is an option to ‘Mute this topic’. You can use this to stop receiving messages on topics you are not interested in, although obviously you will still receive the first message in any new topic.
As Mike says, it is easier to carry on a long discussion in the forums on FHUG where you have more control and don’t need to receive any emails at all if you don’t want to. You can subscribe to a topic of interest if you want to, to receive notification of when a new post has been made, or simply go to the site whenever convenient and check a particular topic, without receiving any emails.
