Geocoding

Thanks Mike: I will take a look at the Knowledge Base,
And I made a mistake - it is the Places field that I was referring to. Regards, Eric |

Eric, I strongly suggest you join the FHUG where there is much more advice freely available.
You mention the Address field, but it is only the Place field that drives geocoding and nothing else. Also, you can override the automatic geocoding by using manual drag.
The way to manage Place and Address details globally is via the Tools > Work with Data dialogues. There are also some Plugins that might help. I suggest you take some time out and study the documentation and tutorials to learn about more of the FH features.
See the FHUG Knowledge Base > Family Historian > Places and Addresses page that has further advice with links to many discussion threads: https://fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=glossary:places

Hi. My Geocoding has been disabled due to a lot of wrong information, or wrong address format, in the address field. I have corrected a lot of it but it seems there is a lot more to do. _._,_._,_ |

Hi. My Geocoding has been disabled due to a lot of wrong information, or wrong address format, in the address field. I have corrected a lot of it but it seems there is a lot more to do.
Is there a quicker way to correct these errors other than going through the entire tree looking at every individual's focus window? Any help please (in the simplest possible terms). Many thanks, Eric |
