Close Down/Startup Query

Patrick Maloney

Hello,
I would like FH to start up showing the same person I was looking at when I last closed it, instead of always reverting to Person 1.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks for your help,
Patrick

There is no automatic method of doing that. But there is an easy method.

Records window > click the Updated column header to display the most recent people you were working at the top of the list. You may need to right click on Updated and click Sort Descending.

Hi Trevor,

Thank you, I'll do that.

Patrick that is just one of several methods.

They are described in the FHUG Knowledge Base > Remember Current Records being Updated

Another method.
Family Historian opens to the "ROOT PERSON" (which I suspect is your Person 1),
Make the last person you worked on the Root Person by right clicking on the name in the Focus Window and selecting from the drop down list.
You can always reset to Person 1 (or any other) later.

Hello Patrick,
They way I do it is to make the last viewed person the file root person.
I had the same frustration when I first started using Family Historian.
Select the person you want then on the top menu click on Edit then File Root then Set as File Root.

Thank you all for your suggestions. At least I can now get to the person I'm researching faster than I used to.
