Re: Diagrams and PDF printing
Michael,
As I stated, there are several dialogues involved in printing with the Family Historian PDF (Nova printer).
It would help us solve your issues quicker if you gave the names in the top left

Look at the Diagram Options > Print tab. There is a tick box there to ‘Print tree lines, boxes and text in black-and-white only’. By default this is not ticked, but perhaps you have ticked that

Michelle
Are you trying to print or create a large one page PDF?
I am assuming you are printing to PDF?
Is this version 6 or 7?
In v7 if I create an all relatives diagram then go to Diagram > Save

Re: Researching and documenting apparent change of Family Surname
If you use FreeBMD you can search up to at least 1993 . Ancestry lists BMD to the early 2000. These all give a GRO reference which you use on the GRO site and order the certificates.

Use the GRO’s own website to search for the birth or death (update 1924 for births and 1957 for deaths) using

Re: Update to FH7 - lost my umlauts
thanks Mike, I've raised a ticket. In the interim I'll practice adding standardized place names to the places records and the mapping feature.

Try https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/
You will need to create an account but that also lest you search the GRO Birth & Death Index.

Adding Pools Column to Individuals records Window
Real quick one as I know this is simple but cant quite work it out.
The concept of pools was discussed in an earlier thread but I cant quite find the answer.
