Re: Advice wanted on improving my tree
Actually Family Historian was publically launched as version 2 in May 2002, so your 30 years is somewhat over optimistic.

Re: Occupation, how to force FH to display the preferred Occupation?
I am sorry Helen and Lorna; mixing up names is a genealogist's nightmare. Won't happen again (I hope :)).
Cheers, Jurriaan

My approach would be to take each document in turn, rather than each individual.
Some documents contain a lot of extra information about other people, which you might miss if you

In case anyone is still confused, colevalleygirl is Helen, not me! (Though I’d be happy to take credit for her work!)

Re: Adding a watermark to a chart
Thanks for your reply, Lorna.
I think it has a problem with PNG files. I converted it to JPG and it did what it was supposed to do.

Re: Making my family tree diagrams more readable
I don’t think there is a video tutorial which covers all the aspects. Is the main problem that the diagram doesn’t look attractive or that it is difficult to interpret?

Re: Making my family tree diagrams more readable
There are various techniques for customising Diagrams.
Many of them are in the Diagram > Options tab settings or the Diagram menu commands.
If you could explain the deficiencies more specifically

Joop, your whole new world already exists...
FH7 supports report plugins. Have a look in the Plugin Help under Special Plugin types. There are examples in C:\Program Files (x86)\Family

Hi Lorna,
Yes, I've been using several workarounds for years (bundling occupations (with dates as text, using sort dates (in TMG, it's bothersome in FH) etc.). But what I don't understand is why it's

Making my family tree diagrams more readable
Is there a video tutorial anywhere on tips for making my family tree diagrams prettier and more readable? I have a lot of relatives in my tree, but when I generate diagrams they aren't as aesthetic

Re: adding individual to census record
Wow, thanks Lorna, never realised I wasn't seeing the full window. I wonder if it is because I usually work on a split screen so I can work from ancestry etc.

My apologies Derek, I didn't mean to offend in any way, I was making observations on similarities of the two browsers and the annoyances of users who like yourself prefer to use a none MS browser.
