Close Down/Startup Query
Hello,
I would like FH to start up showing the same person I was looking at when I last closed it, instead of always reverting to Person 1.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks for your help,
Patrick

Help with lost Property Box
Good afternoon
I do apologise for being a pain but I have, yet again, done something stupid. This time losing the Property Box.
I started by losing the Sources Box at the bottom of the Property Box.

Re: split project
I don’t really understand the question and you don’t explain why you need to split a Project.
Usually, it is not advisable to split a Project permanently, so no cross-reference is required.

Re: split project
Possible steps you could take:
1. Create a new Flag, call it say Split
2. Backup your project/gedcom - for reference I'll call it Master
3. Go through the project and mark/tick all those who

Re: split project
I tend to use a Shared Note to describe what actions I have taken within the Project. Use ADD > Shared Note. I use the Custom ID field to record the date with an underscore for same date entries.

split project
Is there a way to put a MARKER or FLAG in when you split a project so you have a reference which file contains the split data??

Re: tidy up
Thanks. Yes its going take ages to go over each entry and sort it. Luckily I can't go any place at the moment. I have merged all the phone numbers and will delete them. They are of no real use to me.

Select Source Problem
Good morning.
I have stupidly managed two blank (i.e. labelled "[untitled]") entries in the "Source Records" list of the "Select source ..." pane that is displayed when you click on "Add Citation"

I decided today to tidy up my FH project and so I started with DATA - Places. What a mess, I assume this is something thats caused by importing other gedcom files. I had Phone numbers, Bridegroom

Re: searching for best documentation on making tree small
Thanks so much!
I use FTM for synching with ancestry.com now.
I treat ancestry.com as the master for now.
I will experiment with the other way also.

There is a way of ‘synchronising’ FH with Ancestry by exporting the GEDCOM file to either Family Tree Maker or Roots Magic that offer tight synchronisation with Ancestry.
That way all updates are

Re: searching for best documentation on making tree small
As your one page will be a pdf, that one page can be large, so is there a need to try to manipulate the people into a small area? A pdf can be zoomed in so legibility is not normally an issue.
