Re: Marrying Cousins
I would wholeheartedly endorse Jenny’s comments. I too have siblings marrying siblings, cousins marrying, sometimes across generations- first cousin once removed. FH copes with it all brilliantly

If you mean in diagrams it is just showing you that the person appears in two trees
No way to stop it (unless something sneaked into FH7 that I am yet to find!) but there has been many discussions

Re: Marrying Cousins
I don't quite understand what you mean by "linking to the shared grandparents". You should only link an individual to their parents. This will automatically link them to the appropriate grandparents.

I have been following all the posts in this group and seeing a number of problems with the change to FH7, which I have already downloaded! I have been waiting until things settle down but I now wonder

Marrying Cousins
My first post! Hi everyone.
My Family Historian 7 seems to be having a problem coping with first cousins marrying. As soon as I try and link to the shared grandparents, it keeps giving me two

To import from RM to FH, you'll need to export from RM to GEDCOM, and then do a GEDCOM import in FH. No direct import capability. The good news is that if you make sure to include the RM specific

Re: Does FH7 Do a Direct Import fro RM6?
I don't think so, but I imported a gedcom from Rootsmagic and there are only a few problems, mainly family residences, which the current version of fh7 doesn't support. Shared facts seem to copy fine

Does FH7 Do a Direct Import fro RM6?
I have been looking at the trial version of FH7. I don't see any direct import features to import from other genealogy programs. That would be expected from a trial version. So, can anyone tell me if

Gareth, did you try the chart called Ancestors - Left-to-Right which I mentioned in my reply?
In V7 you can find it under Charts>More Diagrams (or View>Charts>More Diagrams). In earlier versions I

Re: Printing charts
Hi Mark
If you open a standard Diagram, for example a Descendant, from the toolbar, if these are shown, go to Diagrams>Options menu and check all the tabs to change what you want.

Re: 12 Generation Pedigree Chart
Thanks, Mike
I have another look - I couldn't get the pedigree chart anywhere near that density, or drop things like pictures and boxes.

Thanks Mike, I spent hours trying to figure it out and found it just before your reply came in. You've confirmed that I now have the right answer. I'm loving the new vs 7.

After Save and Close you will return to the Source Template Definitions dialogue where you use the Compare/Sync with Source Template Record…
There will be a red X against any that need syncing, so

The Exit button means exit the FH program not exit the DEA plugin.
Always use Continue to keep FH open.
