I think that there is a small caveat to the first sentence above. That is, the Essential Source Template Definitions themselves cannot be edited to add fields. What I glean from reading the

The source template will produce footnotes and source list entries with as many or as few of the sources fields if you want, if you don't like the settings the programme comes with initially. By

If I understand you correctly, the Source template won’t produce footnotes, or bibliographic information with more than the source title, unless I follow one of the two

That's not going to help much as the particular school was a Church of England school (not local authority) and, even though there were specifics term, a lot of the pupils left when they were 13

As I said in an earlier reply, no Qualifiers are allowed in Period or Range dates.
So that excludes Approx as well as Estimated and Calculated.

Instead of using est use app meaning approx it will become c. Let's say 1900 app this will automatically become c1900
