Re: Sources and linking media
Are the techniques you mentioned documented somewhere. In the past I have used a non-printing event when I completed working on an individual but would be interested in other methods.

Findmypast rarely give discounts other than the 15% loyalty discount when you renew.

Thanks for that Mike. I think I have many months of work ahead of me to get my project how I want it but you have given me lots of useful pointers.

Good to know it still works.
Does anybody know if the same thing happens with Find my Past?

Re: Update to 7.0.2
I suspect you are selecting Name in the Sources For: box.
Instead, open the Main tab and select the Name field there, then the Paste Citation works OK.

Yes this is a known issue. I have reported it and it has been acknowledged to be a problem. The same issue occurs if you try to copy to Whole Record or Fact Witnesses.

I have just updated to FH v7.0.2 and I am having a problem copying a birth citation from "Birth" to "Name". The citation is being repeated in "Birth" and not being copied to "Name". Has anyone else

I am not familiar with Rootsmagic but from your description it seems to assume that if the checkbox for ‘Living’ is not checked it assumes the person has definitely died. That would be a false

Edward,
You have effectively answered your own question.
It is RootsMagic that is manufacturing the DEAT Event not FH.
The ‘Y’ is a GEDCOM requirement when there are no subsidiary Date or Place

Here are copies of two gedcom files I created in Rootsmagic. I am in the process of moving to FH but there is one glitch in FH that has been reported and passed to the developers that I need before

That is correct but Edward talked very specifically about a “living flag” not a Death event.
It may depend on what product produced the GEDCOM file and perhaps ‘manufactured’ the Death event
