Yes, the default recommended arrangement is to treat the 1939 Register as a census and record it using the standard Census Event.

It does not matter whether you do that in FH or use AS.

If you do nothing else then all displays, Diagrams, Reports, etc, will use the default Census Event wording.

Re: Narrative reports

Victor,
Yes, when I do this I only get pictures of people, I do not get any other pictures. However if I publish a book I get all the pictures I would expect. So, apparently, not a Win 11 issue.

I was trying to help you test your issue as I am running Win 11 also. I seem to have confused everyone so I will step out of this.

For start

From the top select

Publish. This will open a drop down menu

From this menu you have 3 choices 1. Ancestors by genration, 2.
Descendants by generation and 3 Individual

You select how many generations you want in the report.

This will generate a report. You can print directly from this in PDF format or save it to you file in PDF or Rich Text Format or simply text

If you save it in RTF you can make any adjustment (e,g. make images larger). I then save it in Word. PDF format wont allow you to make any adjustments

If you save it in RTF or Word and make adjustment go to Index and right click this will revise the index

Hope tis helps

All my images are saved in media file folder in FH Projects folder. I have not moved anything. My FH Projects have been on One Drive for a long time and I have made no changes to location of folder.

I have checked external file links and they are all there.

I have checked my own birth certificate and prompting 'edit' the options to exclude the image from 'diagram ' 'report 'use link note as caption'
are all greyed out. I tried this on a census image with the same
result

I have prompted 'use to existing media record' and was able to
download the image and also use the above mentioned options. On that
image I now have 2 of the same images. On the previous image the above
mentioned options are still greyed out

The changes must have happened when upgrading to Win 11 has made this
happen. Perhaps another shut down and open will sort this. I will do
this later

Hi all

When I run Ancestor or Descendant by Generation reports, instead of telling me people appeared in the Register for 1939 it says Census 1939.

EG for my grandfather: "He appeared in the census on 29 September 1939 in Coventry...."

Is this something being incorrectly output by FH7 or is it something I have mistakenly added?

Where would I correct this.

Many thanks

Neil.

You don’t need an account as such.

Just visit http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/index.php and read the advice then click Open a New Ticket.

Or go to http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php and fill in your details.

Just keep using the same Email address and all will be OK.

You can even submit Email messages directly to support@... with the same effect.

Their Email reply will include a link that gets you back to the support ticket.

You can continue by Email or follow the link and post replies online.

Also, you can use the Check Ticket Status option.

I realise it could be explained better, but it is what it is.

Sign in to Family Historian Support Center

To better serve you, we encourage our Clients to register for an account.

That's what it says at http://support.calico-pie.com/login.php. I can find no explanation in fh Help, fhug KB or Forum, nor here. My store account does not work on Support.

I assume that having logged in, I should be able to see all my tickets without having to tell the system my email address and ticket number one at a time.

SOLVED: Ros from Family Historian Support responded 5 hours ago to my ticket thanking me for the feedback and detailed information.
