        Found the solution with the help of Ros.I thought I had lost the activation password (forgotten that it was in the email) so I was looking for a procedure to recover it. The procedure called for placing the word "info" at the end of the target ID of the Family Historian desktop icon. This was meant for older versions of the software. Removing it from the target ID cleared the problem. Sorry to bother you with this....Bob
