Re: version 6 and version7

The one thing that I would suggest to anyone doing the install is NOT to jump straight in but the read the “Notes on Upgrading to Version 7” from it points you to at the end of the install process

It may well have alleviated the problem that Marion had and meant that I changed the tack on several of the things that I had planned

I also kept all my old FH6 databases and copied the ones I wanted in the brand new folder for FH7

So it seems the best thing for me to do would be to purchase version 7 and install it on both my existing laptop and the new one (when it arrives!!!).

Would I have to uninstall version 6 before installing 7?      OR can I just install it and it will overwrite version 6.     Would there be any preference on which laptop to install first?

Sorry, an elderly thicko!!!!

If it were just the differences between GEDCOM 5.5 and 5.5.1 then FH V6 and FH V7 could have coped, but it is much more than that because of the changes to the FH ‘extensions’.
