9c703b53e7a0: Merge pull request #759

Cherokee: Adjust base pitch to be higher (seems to effect consonents).

Also removed the pause after each syllable as it no longer seems needed
with the higher base pitch.

Adjusted the tone start/stop values based on Praat pitch analysis
on the newer base pitch.

Modified: dictsource/chr_rules
Modified: espeak-ng-data/lang/iro/chr
Modified: phsource/ph_cherokee

Hi @boracasli98, I see you've opened multiple issues for various languages recently with zip files. What's the reason for not creating a pull request? Is it that you're not familiar with git and the pull request system ?

Ok, no worries. Are you familiar with git ? If so, it should be easy for you to learn how to use the pull request system. If you're not familiar with git, you'll probably need some reading and/or some assistance.

I'm not familiar with git at all. I used it only to clone the repository onto my computer.

[espeak-ng:master] New Comment on Issue #764 Nogai
By BenTalagan:

Ok, thanks for the answer which gives a clearer context :) Imho the easiest way would still be for you to learn how to use git. That would allow you to continue to contribute in the feature, and make corrections easily.

The general view is that you fork the main repository (from github UI) ; this gives you your own repository on github, which you can pull with git. You then integrate your changes in your local copy, you git commit them, you git push them back to github, and then you can create a pull request from the github UI. It's not that complicated but it's easy to get lost in all the features of git. @rhdunn and @valdisvi , what's your policy and advice on that kind of cases?

@boracasli98 : do you plan to create more languages and dialects in the following days?

[espeak-ng:master] New Issue Created by boracasli98:
#768 Trouble indicating vowel lenghts

My problem is: I'd like to turn a short vowel to a long vowel in the Listx file but unlike the word stress, I can't indicate it without rewriting how it's pronounced either in Kirshenbaum or in text. Simply the words in the Listx file don't comply with the rules.

for example, bar is pronounced bA:R, and däl is pronounced d&:l Liaisons won't happen in words in my listx file. Bar and Däl are included in it since they contain long vowels, which are not present in written Turkmen.

seniňdäl = Ten'Inn&l, incorrect but at least the liaison is applied here. but seniň däl = T'enIn d'&:l, where it should be TenIn n&:l (I don't know where exactly the stress is, sorry for that.)

kitabymbar = k,itAB'@mmAR, also incorrect but at least the liaison is applied here. but kitabym bar = kit'A:B@m b'A:R, where it should be kitA:B@m mA:R

Thank you.

P.S. I added most of the pronunciation rules in Turkmen and I'd be happy to share the improvements with you.

My problem is: I'd like to turn a short vowel to a long vowel in the Listx file but unlike the word stress, I can't indicate it without rewriting how it's pronounced either in Kirshenbaum or in text. Simply the first and the last consonants of words in the Listx file, which either start or end with consonants, don't comply with the rules.

for example, bar is pronounced bA:R, and däl is pronounced d&:l Liaisons won't happen in words in my listx file. Bar and Däl are included in it since they contain long vowels, which are not present in written Turkmen.

In my listx file: $textmode bar baar däl dääl $phonememode

seniňdäl = Ten'Inn&l, incorrect but at least the liaison is applied here. but seniň däl = T'enIn d'&:l, where it should be TenIn n&:l (I don't know where exactly the stress is, sorry for that.)

Update: When I write kitaabym baar, eSpeak pronounces it correctly, but when I write kitabym bar, it's not pronounced correctly, due to the word being present in the listx file.

Thank you.
