For modern Vietnamese, s and x has general tendency of same pronunciation as /s/. s is pronounced as /S/ only by Central and Southern accents.

Hi Marco, isn't it what's pointed by wikipedia as a general tendency of speakers to merge /s/ and /ʂ/ in modern accents ?
