Hi Reece

I have attached my latest updated dictionary files for Afrikaans:
af_list and af_rules. I compiled them and test them locally and there
are no errors. I will appreciate it if you could process them for me.

Done. Thanks for the updates.

Incidentally, I figured out the issue I had with Afrikaans punctuation
not being pronounced correctly. What I had to do, was to copy the two
files in the NVDA\locale\af_ZA folder to the nvda\locale\af folder and
all is working fine with espeak-ng. Who should arrange for those files
to be included in that folder for future builds of NVDA?

You will need to speak with the NVDA developers for that. I am not sure what their mailing list details are, though.

Kind regards,

Reece Dunn

Envisaging The Future of The ESpeak-NG Community

Dear ESpeak-NG users, developers, and other beneficiaries,
At the outset, let me sincerely thank Reece for appointing me as a
moderator of this Groups.io based next generation mailing list for
official discussion regarding the ESpeak-NG speech synthesizer. Also,
I would like to express my gratitude towards everyone who joint the
e-mail list via invites sent out on different forums, direct invites,
word-of-mail (not mouth :D) and also for those who have begun
contributing by spreading the word about this project and its
community, and by participating in it.
Following are some fundamental statistics that highlight the current
status of this group:
Member Count: 11
Group Owner: Reece H. Dunn
Group Moderator: Bhavya Shah (Me)
Integrations: Github (https://github.com/espeak-ng/espeak-ng)

Also, following are integral e-mail addresses to perform various
activities on the group:
To Post: espeak-ng@groups.io
To Subscribe: espeak-ng+subscribe@groups.io
To Unsubscribe: espeak-ng+unsubscribe@groups.io
To Contact The Group Owner: espeak-ng+owner@groups.io

At the moment, we have no special hashtags in use (apart from Github),
no dedicated subgroups (due to lack of their requirement) and no Wiki
material (due to their inexistence). However, our vision for this
group must extend beyond not only encompassing this in ESpeak-NG’s
next generation e-group, but also having a prolific and proactive
community of users and developers in constant communication and
interaction via this list. ESpeak-NG powers the speech synthesis of
two popular screen readers by default - NVDA for Windows and Orca for
Linux – which in turn fuel computer access for tens of thousands of
visually impaired individuals across the globe. Let us recognize the
significance of this open source project, and accordingly strive to
mobilize its users, developers and other beneficiaries as part of this
e-mail platform.
Please do spread the word about this mailing list and ask your fellow
ESpeak users to join the list by sending a blank mail to
espeak-ng+subscribe@groups.io And send a blank reply to the
confirmation prompt subsequently received.
In conclusion, I hope to dutifully serve as a moderator of this
mailing list in a just manner, and I shall try to the best of my
abilities to assist Reece in ensuring smooth functioning of this
e-group, in constant anticipation of your continued collaboration.

Best Regards,
Bhavya Shah

P.S. Due to Groups.io policies, the first post of every group member
will require approval from a group administrator. All messages from
that e-mail will be delivered directly thereafter.

Hi all,
With my warmest wishes for a prosperous 2017 especially when it comes
to ESpeak-NG to Russell Sir and everyone else, let me clarify that the
current member count is 75, and not the previously accidentally stated
figure. Please ignore the minor error.
Thanks.

Updating of language dictionaries

Christo de Klerk

Hello Reece

When I send you updated dictionary files, would you want me to send you a log of the changes I made also, or isn't it necessary? I didn't send one with my last update, but I have one I can send if you want it.

Kind regards

Christo

I've deleted lines of "#undef malloc" and "#undef realloc" in config.h.in before, otherwise it would cause "undefined reference to rpl_malloc" error during making. Dose that matter ?

hi

Are you still interested in my US english changes to espeak ng? It's been about a month since I've made any changes, I've had to transition laptops and this one runs both windows 10 and sonar linux, so I haven't yet made any changes or fixes to my github repository at http://github.com/coffeeking/espeak-en-us. If so, I'll attach the en_list, en_rules and en_extra files, although I'll first check for new en_list and rules files and update my repository if there are newer files.

Thanks

Kendell,

updates are always welcome. As far as I can see, currently there are no
differences between your project and main espeak-ng, except en_extra
file (which is empty on espeak-ng) and voice variants.
