[espeak-ng:master] New Comment on Issue #575 the problem is the addition of the Bashkir language
By valdisvi:

When I tested this, I got strange problem with completely different language (Greenlandic — kl), could not resolve it, and left it for later. When @rhdunn caught problems by adding more voices and fixed it in f58f665336772e9bc161a19442074c76d2b5f8ba, it become clear, problem with this was also related to number of languages reaching predefined limit. It is included now in espeak-ng project: f4c4cd32082c757ea035497b816321d0d64e9826. Thanks for contribution!

#543 Fix errors and sending pull request again ( Shan language )

Please don't merge the previous one here -> https://github.com/espeak-ng/espeak-ng/pull/541

This is a new pull request from my forked repo.

1 - Fixed tone marks 1 and 4; 2 - Added 3 more vowels ( ွ , ို , ိူ ) 3 - Added large numbers until 1xxxx

This is the correct one, Thanks in advance.

[espeak-ng:master] New Comment on Issue #636 Words with alternative pronunciation
By nmstoker:

Just following up: is there a simple way to override or provide a hint to the system for heteronyms?

If I haven't put this clearly or have asked in a way that's putting contributors off answering, do say (and I'll do my best to resolve it)

Thank you for the great project :slightly_smiling_face:

[espeak-ng:master] New Comment on Issue #441 Mispronunciation of Forbidden
By nmstoker:

I know it's a long time since this was last posted, but I also get f'3bId@n (ie not stressing the second syllable) and I'm using the command line (version 1.49.2 installed in Arch Linux installed from the community package). It happens whether I use English RP or not:

espeak-ng -X -v gmw/en-GB-x-rp "forbidden"
espeak-ng -X "forbidden"

What I'm confused about is that the link @valdisvi provided back in 2018 is to the eSpeak NG testing page and yet that seems to use the latest commits. Thus, surely it's not surprising that the results there will differ, since aren't most users going to be on the released version of 1.49.2 from back in 2017?

Is there a new release planned as that would potentially clear up a number of queries like this? Then downstream projects or users of the release version would get whatever changes have presumably been incorporated in the last ~2 years.

Then you're glad to hear that it's fixed in espeak 1.49.3 dev. This issue can be closed I think. When is espeak 1.49.3 released btw?

By FRANKLINSHEPS:

I am new to github and that is probably the issue I understand it is a command line interface in dos windows etc I downloaded espeak-ng-master.zip in order to at the dos command line run the program to read a text file into a wave file I expected for example espeak-ng.exe test.txt test.wav
I cannot find the exe file which I presume would be espeak-ng.exe to which I attach the command parameters my zip contains a ton of other things that I don't know what they are but no exe's or even dll's I am sure I am just dumb but your help would be appreciated did I download the wrong thing ??

#655 Esperanto: pronunciation of A

The pronunciation of the letter A is incorrect. It should be pronounced like the A in spa, not the A in cat.

Hmmmm, maybe the latin "a" is ok? Can you try it and see what you think? If it's ok, I can open a pull request, or the developers can make that change.

[espeak-ng:master] New Comment on Issue #655 Esperanto: pronunciation of A
By hozosch:

Sorry. Do you mean that the sound of the letter "a" is wrongly pronounced in the Esperanto language implementation of espeak, or is it the english pronunciation of the word "esperanto"?

[espeak-ng:master] New Comment on Pull Request #658 Changes for Shan language
By ronaldaug:

Hi @valdisvi

Can I have a rule like if there is a single prefix, it will add a letter a?

The problem is when a single consonant ( e.g ) is combined with the suffixes such as မ် it should be like lam. But currently it produceslm.

I could change the rule for မ် like am. But this is not correct for every rules. e.g လိမ် is equal to lim , if I change မ် to am, it would be liam and this will produce an incorrect sound.

Thanks in advance
