[espeak-ng:master] new issue: Phoneme from other language #github

[espeak-ng:master] New Issue Created by embie27:
#613 Phoneme from other language

Is it possible to make espeak-ng use phonemes which do not exist in the specified language? I try to make espeak-ng say 'Francis' with the pronunciation from en-US but in a German sentence. Can I get the English version inside of this sentence?

[espeak-ng:master] New Comment on Issue #613 Phoneme from other language
By hozosch:

It unfortunately doesn't work with a US-Accent in Espeak ng, but with the british one. There were attempts in original eSpeak to compensate for this, but these weren't as general / robust. I don't know when this will be looked at, but I hope it's going to take place soon. In the meantime, if you want to let it say it at least in English, add the following entry to the de_list file: francis _^_EN Hope that was helpful.

#616 `espeak-ng --ipa -v de ütz` produces the phoneme `ˈ?ts` -- ? is not a proper phoneme.

espeak-ng --ipa -v de ütz produces the phoneme ˈ?ts but this question mark:? is not a proper phoneme as far as I can tell. I can't find it in the IPA rules and my cereproc engine does not pronounce it.

[espeak-ng:master] New Issue Created by delthas:
#617 Generating speech from phonemes? / Phoneme representation specification

Hello,

Can espeak-ng take IPA phonemes as input or only its custom phoneme representation (eg espeak-ng "[[h@´loU]]")?

Is there a specification or documentation of this phoneme representation or a table listing all characters? The representations in docs/phoneme_model.md and docs/phonemes.md don't look like the example above.

Thanks.
