[espeak-ng:master] new issue: <say-as> does not respect capitals style #github

espeak-ng@groups.io Integration <espeak-ng@...>

[espeak-ng:master] New Issue Created by sthibaul:
#610 does not respect capitals style

Hello,

In this test: espeak.c.txt

We set the capital rendering style to none. A simple H synth does get h spoken, but a <say-as interpret-as="tts:char">H</say-as> synth gets capital h spoken. This is unexpected, say-as tts:char should respect the capital style. I even tried to use tts:style but still couldn't get it to respect the style.

[espeak-ng:master] new issue: [installation on MacOS] Request to update instructions for 'make' #github

espeak-ng@groups.io Integration <espeak-ng@...>

[espeak-ng:master] New Issue Created by dkang9322:
#612 [installation on MacOS] Request to update instructions for 'make'

I'm on macOS Sierra 10.12.2, and have successfully built espeak-ng (with pcaudiolib).

Two issues I want to report: one for pcaudiolib and one for espeak-ng 1. I was unable to open an issue with pcaudiolib; this is largely unrelated to espeak-ng.. But please let me know how this issue can be addressed 2. During 'make all-am', $(PWD) has to be manually set. Running 'make all-am PWD=$(PWD)' resolves the issue. $(PWD) defaults to an empty on my system, which causes an error during phsource/phonemes.stamp target compilation. (the empty string causes /usr/share/ to be mistakenly set as ESPEAK_DATA_PATH)

Best

[espeak-ng:master] new issue: Phoneme from other language #github

espeak-ng@groups.io Integration <espeak-ng@...>

[espeak-ng:master] New Issue Created by embie27:
#613 Phoneme from other language

Is it possible to make espeak-ng use phonemes which do not exist in the specified language? I try to make espeak-ng say 'Francis' with the pronunciation from en-US but in a German sentence. Can I get the English version inside of this sentence?

[espeak-ng:master] New Comment on Issue #613 Phoneme from other language
By hozosch:

It unfortunately doesn't work with a US-Accent in Espeak ng, but with the british one. There were attempts in original eSpeak to compensate for this, but these weren't as general / robust. I don't know when this will be looked at, but I hope it's going to take place soon. In the meantime, if you want to let it say it at least in English, add the following entry to the de_list file: francis _^_EN Hope that was helpful.
