Re: D>G> Sanatorium in Lockmaben Scotland
Hi Michelle
It was a Tuberculosis hospital. In 1941 it consisted of a ‘village’ of wooden pavilions but those were replaced about 30 years ago.
Kind regards

In doing my genealogy I have discovered that my Gr. Uncle Walter Mundell died at D.G. Sanatorium in Lockmaben in 1941. What kind of Sanatorium was it?
Thank you

You’ve already traced a good way back. What further information are you looking for? And where have you looked already? Maps? Sasines? Kirk sessions? Gravestone inscriptions? Census? OPRs?
