120 63 60 16 37 60 108 25 70 118 126 and 122 which gives an ECC of...
51 no less !

120 XOR 63 = 71
71 XOR 60 = 123
123 XOR 16 = 107
107 XOR 37 = 78
78 XOR 60 = 114

7 XOR 70 = 65
65 XOR 118 = 55
55 XOR 126 = 73
73 XOR 122 = 51, the ECC shown in your original message

Hi all,

This possible S. Vicente CPV was noted with an error - any help with proving or disproving the validity appreciated ?

As an update, I checked the YADDNet server for any traffic from/to
MMSI number 636016376 (see attachment) at 2312Z yesterday and it looks
like the ship received an ACK from 002570000 (the Norwegian
'one-size-fits-all' station)

Codes: 120 120 63 60 16 37 60 108 0 61 70 0 0 118 126 126 126 126 126 126 126 122 51

Hi Peter

No doubt the Sage of the Shetlands will have the definitive answer,
but I've just done two XOR checks of the codes
The 'abbreviated' codes (deleting the zeros and surplus 126s), I
think, look like this
120 63 60 16 37 60 108 61 70 118 126 and 122.

120 XOR 63 = 71
71 XOR 60 = 123
123 XOR 16 = 107
107 XOR 37 = 78
78 XOR 60 = 114
114 XOR 108 = 30
30 XOR 61 = 35
35 XOR 70 = 101
101 XOR 118 = 19
109 XOR 126 = 109
109 XOR 122 = 23

So I reckon the last 3 groups should be 126 122 and 23, not 126 122
and 51. I can't see where the 51 comes into it (hence the error?)
unless I'm overlooking something obvious. I need to go into serious
delving mode and it's too late for that today. I hope I haven't made a
complete pig's ear of what I've done so far !
I'm sure all will be revealed in due course.
Nice catch if it's gen
